  1. The large double or triple boxes are £30 they are 570mm long, the regular double or single is £25 postage is £8.50.The box in Mickeys picture is a regular double. The large double is in my opinion the best box.
  2. Well done Buddy, you now need to snare the top of the wall too.
  3. Thank you,the terrier boxes are coming next
  4. My boxes are made up from Birch ply, fitted with protex toggle catches, not cheap screwfix ones and zinc plated 100mm tee hinges, the boxes are all painted inside and out.PM me if you want any more details.
  5. 12" pegs made from 8mm rebar with a nut welded on the top.Disposable ground anchors on more permanent sets.
  6. My uncle used metal meat scewers, but i have not tried them myself.
  7. So you have never used the stuff, but you are already an expert on it Some people will smear a small amount of ferretone on a ferrets belly to distract them when nail clipping etc,the ferrets go mad for it,but i guess you already knew that.
  8. I have done it before,i have a small quarry with lots of holes,i just put in a single hob and let hin have a wonder round, the rabbits would either just pop up outside the holes and sit or run fifteen yards or so and sit outside another hole.I had a good bag in an hour or so no trouble. You just have to make sure you get real clean kills so they dont kick below ground, apart from that it can be good.I think it suits bigger warrens where they will hole hop rather than just bolt to another warren, but i may be wrong.
  9. Frontline spray ,i sometime just treat single ticks with a cotton bud and Frontline,o Tool tick pullers are the best way to remove them, but not always easy on a ferret.I also spray the sleeping boxes with frontline in the summer to control fleas, this year was really bad for mine for some reason, they are all kept clean with paper beds but i did have a lot of fleas, clean bedding every couple of days for a few times along with frontlining the box and treating the ferrets soon had them under control.
  10. I seem to end up sharpening lots of knives for friends using my Lansky system and i do a few Buck knives for them. All i can say is they will take an excellent edge and hold it well,i would be very happy to own one.
  11. A day out ferreting with me looks like a scene from the movie Avitar!i even have some flourescent stop nets and have unchased rabbits run 50 yards and straight into them.Just knitting a pink 8ft poke net right now.
  12. Agouti for nets,he doesnt use sliders, just good quality heavy rings, nor does he use seconds twine like some other netmakers out there.
  13. Spun Poly,Most "Hemp" nets are not even Hemp they are a mixture of Sisal and Flax.
  14. A poke net has a drawcord just like a pursenet, but instead of beinng tied to the ring at the top of the net it passes through it and then is attached to another peg.Having two pegs allows a bigger net to close quicker than if it had a peg at one end.Poke nets can be used to cover large holes, around tree roots at the base of trees etc.poke nets can also be used propped on a couple of small poles to cover runs through hedges or at the bottom of ditches. It is always handy to have a couple in the bottom of your net bag.
  15. Whip snares,they work a treat.Look at trapworks website.
  16. Watch the videos on Agoutis website it will show you how to wind a needle, and make a net, even spun poly will twist if not wound correctly,Agouti is also the person to see for twine etc.
  17. I will make you one if you what you want.
  18. I have got two 10 yard hand made nets made from purse net twine from Agouti,But i have found it is too heavy and does not bag rabbits easily,my fault but i wanted to try it.Agouti has some new brown longnet twine which knits like a dream and makes beautiful catching nets.
  19. Agouti, and forget hemp, real hemp has not been available for ages just ask him
  20. Mine has biscuit all the time in the run and work fine, dont forget to take tham a drink though.
  21. i had a border/patterdale who worked his whole life with ferrets, even used to go into the run and play with the young.Start him early introducing him to the ferrets, sharing a bowl of milk etc and you should be fine.I now have a Bedlington and he has no problems either,he was playing rabbit tug of war with my jill this afternoon.
  22. According to the Deben catalogue it will work to 16ft.
