    Hi iv just loaded up my batch of rounds for my first try at the OCW method test for Wednesday, powder is TR140 bullets are 155gn Lapua scenars. I will post my results on Wednesday so you can see how I did Rick

    Hi Peter yes its .308 and the oal of 2.200" is with a comparator which is why it seems short. I have been led to believe that I need to be hitting the 2900fps to be able to keep it above the sound barrier out to 1000 yards I was going to run last nights test the OCW way but completely forgot once I set the crono up and started shooting so im going to make sure the next test will be run OCW That was going to be my next test starting at 10 thou off then 15 thou ect. According to my shooter app if I put in 2692fps which was the speed with 44gns of powder I will still be 1240fps at the 1000 ya

    Hi 40 thou hit the spot that will be my next lot of testing once I get the measurement to the lands then il start 10 thou off and see how that goes. iv not tallied up my results yet from today as im still cleaning my rifle but I will put them up and I forgot to try the OCW method but will make a not to remind me for next time.     Hi dicehorn I will try that method tonight when up the range and see how it goes, have you tried the 52gn A-max with 25,5gns of H335 powder? that was the best combination with my 223. I try 1/2 grain increments to start then the 2 best loads il go .2gns either side to see if it makes it more accurate or not. Rick

    Ok Dubba I was just trying to say iv been shooting in the field for bunnies pigeons and fox and when in the field the target is more than visible and I know exactly what I will be shooting and where it is unlike him telling me the bit of clay right middle then 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 ect so not only was he trying to rush me I had to find the bit of broken clay he was talking about amongst the other hundreds of bit of clay on the back stop! not a fair assessment really!     Hi I know you may have to take a quick shot from time to time but trying to rush anyone and pushing them into taking a quick shot is only going to end badly! if he had left me to it I would have taken the shot when I was comfortable with it! be it in 5 seconds time to 25 seconds time the wait could be to wait for the quarry to be in the correct position to take the shot as they are not all going to present them selves in the perfect position as soon as you see them.     Hi soz no pics I copied and pasted from the other forum im on. The variation could be me the cases the heads ect as I don't weigh them, all are seated the same and they all felt the same when pressing them in. im doing some more testing tomoz of the 2 best groups and increasing the max load by .2gn to see how they do and if the accuracy improves, all were 3 round groups.     Hi I have Charcot marie tooth type 1 which results in me living with great pain all the time! even my pain medication does not get rid of the pain it just makes it a bit more manageable from day to day, it also affects my walking and as such I have to move slowly and carefully when out in the field which in turn enables me to see more as I am so slow. none of which affects my safety or anyone else's safety who is with me.     Hi I like the grip factor about the stock but that's it, I don't compete but I like to get the best out of my rifle with my reloads and I try and better my groups as I go im testing some 168gn A-max at the range tomoz and see how they go. Rick

    Thanks its doing ok at the moment but the only thing that I don't like is the hogue over moulded stock its great for the grip factor but it does flex quiet a bit and the barrel is still free floating so for now its ok. Rick
