There are plenty crosses what take them week in week out.......Your breed blind
I'm not breed blind mate, I would keep any dog that did was what was expected of it no matter what cross, shape, size etc., i'm just saying from what i've seen of all crosses that the saluki crosses have impressed me most...
You are right Reload in saying 'A good deer dog is a good deer dog' and thats very true, but Ive found that of the good deer dogs ive seen, the majority were/are saluki crosses, I dont like collie in a lurcher, I think it makes them 'too' bright/clever and unwilling to take a good hold...
A good saluki/greyhound will be the best deer dog you will find IMO(preban) , that is from what ive seen of all types of crosses including bull crosses...
I got my copy yesterday and will second what Wilf has said, some quality pics and without doubt the best book Darcy has released so far, a truthful account of the dog showing the good and also the bad points of it's working career...good going JD...
A young pup i'm running on at the moment but wont be ready till next year, the dog i was digging with threw the towel in so im stuck for a terrier at the moment but been offered a good working bitch that i think im gonna take...
Stan
Well I see there's two new book ready to be released, 'Scooby' by Darcy and 'Breaking Through' by J Bluck...i'll be ordering both . Is there anyone on here who has read them and would be willing to put a review up???
Ive out this in the wrong section, could one of the moderators move it to the book, dvd review section, cheers...
Isn't it about time a book was released using this title to overshadow the silly book written by Frain, I'm sure Darcy could get a few lads off here to add their input...
I think a dog that gives its all will lose a good bit of weight when they're being dug to, so I like to keep them well fed but fit with it, for example we had a good 4hour dig to a black dog I have the other day, one the way to the earth a mate commented that he looked a bit overweight, but after the dig every rib was showing so I suppose they need that little bit extra...
I'm from Darlington, not heard of any dog thefts around here for a while...I know the names of 'supposed' dog thieves from neighbouring towns and also there's gypos/pikeys in abundance here so we are kept on our toes continuously...
rabbit hunter that dog is far older than 4-5 months, look at his teeth, and the dogs pads are not that wide, pups 4-5 months old would have wide pads , and narrow legs.
ive got no reason to lie mate, i got it as a 6 week old pup on July the 25th...
