  4. Maybe the way to get round all this would be for there to be a new 'Earthdog only' section made and you're only allow to view it if you're either vouched for or you're willing to post pics of digging/days out etc., what does everyone think????
  5. I'm glad I got these books when they first came out, seem to have been a very good investment, I think the most I paid for one was £28 inc P + P, and that was for either Extreme Lurcherwork or Dig Deep..., when does the next terrier book come out?

  7. good going scent, its always nice for things to go to plan for the host when out on an invite, 15 year old and still doing the business, sounds like a decent dog mate...
  8. I am highlighting what eammon is saying, its a working terrier section so there should be posts, replies of working dogs, pups being brought on etc., and you put that pic up, all i'm saying is putting a pic up of the dog tied to a spade doesn't prove anything, show us a couple of him working...The posts I put on here I try to be 'constructive' in, I don't ruin peoples threads by stirring shit or questioning peoples dogs...and as for showing some pics, I think it wise not to put dodgy ones on what is a public forum...
  9. not being funny but i think this what Eammon means, anyone can take a pic of their jack russell tied to a spade with its pet lead on...
  10. I hope not, J Broadhurst went against his word and reprinted making the values of the first editions go down... . On a different note, does anyone know whether Darcy's new book 'Scooby' is limited edition as it doesn't mention it on the website??
  11. looking good them pups Benj, as is the bitch, hopefully we'll get a bit of sport for the big dogs tommorow...
  12. I've just finished this and have got to say it's the best terrier book ive read in a good while, it's up there with 'world of the working terrier' and 'dig deep..', it has quality pics and the author has a good, easy to read writing style, it shows the ups and downs of the terrier world and what comes with them, it mentions personal things and shows how much terriers mean to this fella, the only thing I missed was the lack of informaton on the black dogs (patterdales) in the book but thats only because I prefer them... .Well done Johnny...
  13. Nice strong looking dog there SD, looks built for the job, I really like the type of dogs youse fellas keep, seen them on another site aswell mate... YIS BLUE
  14. My Whippets are Sooty Sam bred also. I like that blue dog of yours, bet you had some fun with him before the ban What other crosses are in his make-up? Alright mate, his father was a full saluki and his dam is a first cross whippet x greyhound, he stands at 27 1/2" , a few lads off here have seen him run, he was good on every type of quarry day and night (preban)
  15. I departed with a black dog recently that although would stay to difficult game and could find in large earths, if there was nothing in then you were still digging him out, after a few times of doing this he had to go...
  16. dont know whether i can span him or not, never tried to be honest, the dog should make the right size for the work he will be doing...
  17. A black pup I have at the moment that will be ready to start next season, 7 month at the moment...
  18. £500... .I wouldn't like to think I lost them while out hunting...I use some average ones that were about £100 when we're out with the lurchers (tracking ), they seem to do the job...
  19. Some decent looking dogs there Dingle, seen these pics on other sites a while ago mate...
  20. Nice pics there lads, a mate I hunt with with used to have two beauty blue whippets that were Sooty Sam lines I think, they were quality rabbit dogs and caught the odd hare aswell... .Heres a pic of a dog I have at the moment, he's exactly a quater whippet which is where I think he gets his blue colouring from, he stands at 27 1/2 " though so he's big enough for other things(pre-ban)... ...
  21. cheers for the reply strongstuff, ive already got a set of couplings off you but thet are steel couplings(i think??) i prefer the brass though mate, i'll have a look through your website now mate...
