  1. Brill thread Love the puffballs sweet as owt and the shaggy inkcaps Had a bite of a dry panther cap years ago not an experience id recommend anyone trying. Ive had a few mushroom books but they are all a bit inconclusive as a lot of species arent listed ive struggled loads in identifying different types so just stick to the good edibles that cant be confused with any others .
  2. Dont know the top one but as Bert says looks like porcelain fungus bottom ones are deffo aminita muscaria the fly agaric
  3. Does look like a milk cap never tried them before are they ok had a few blewies last couple of weeks going to be a good season if we get the rain atb.
  4. Me neither i skin them stuff them with bay leaves and a bunch of thyme then cover them with streaky bacon keeps them nice and moist.

  8. Good to see a genuine Tazi in the UK shes a beauty all the best with her
  9. The original Fathom was probably one of the best lurchers plummer ever had on his yard she was bred out of penguin i believe to Grip [f1 Arkinglas deerhound x greyhound]i dont think either parent was bred by him Grip was bred by Bodger but class dogs in the field Grip sired a load of bitches and some real good types. I owned a couple down from Grip if they was on it was over great mouths and stamina to burn i saw Grip kill his last hare with Terry Aherne he was thirteen then old battered and with half a tail .
  10. Have a bump on me mate If i werent dogged up bowers id have him in a shot cany believe hes not been snapped up cheers......J
  11. A mate of mine had a 3/4 used it for everything and it was more than usefull a bit large 27 inch but i would have had it on the yard in a shot a big fast fawn dog with a putty coloured nose not shy on fox at all in fact he was used as a draw dog when he got older. Had everything you would want in a lurcher and lived a full working life als had plenty of stamina for a 3/4 bred.
  12. Only ever had one half cross collie grey and that was from hancock litter sister to chuckles out of a rabbiting border collie gyp owned by chuck arrowsmith. She was one of best little lamping and rabbiting bitches ive ever owned id have another if rabbits were my sole quarry like some has already said chance of a half cross coming from working parentage is slim and to test both parents yourself and then breed a litter it would take time and money. A lot cheaper and easier to buy a pup in i wouldnt hesitate trying another from him after all its only for lamping and ferreting i personally wou
  13. http://www.caninecryobank.com/frozen.html Here you go Ditch a bit of reading for you my mate Costly and lots of paperwork some companies already have semen frozen for collection of many breeds
  14. Plenty of good greys around years ago on the travellers sites before the salukis became popular most only had a couple of runs in them some had more but good catch dogs some good rabbiters too ive known a few lads use em on deer but horses for courses its obvious why we use lurchers good bloodlines is everything but if for whatever reason one litter was indifferent id be looking for the cause sometimes you may have to lose stamina or brain for speed but you have to be prepared for having to go another generation to get back on track just like terriers and pits if it comes to that. Id sooner
  15. Theres a couple in our village and they seem quite laid back probably as they are not from working stock id love to see a first cross to a greyhound not as hyper as the borders and beardies and as they are much larger and better built id have thought there would be little or no litter wastage. last week i thought i saw a woman with another one without the pricked ears and boy could it work i asked her about it and it turned out to be a russian terrier and was of simmilar build and looks but had a lot more about it full of energy and very responsive to commands not a breed id ever seen before
  16. Nothing worse than losing a dog in his prime. R.I.P BILLY

Ive got some decent permission on a few farms for bunnys and that, but i'm after some real untouched stone wall roughlands ya know, where the bunnys chase the lamp and the burys are only a 3 inch dig.. MAYBE I'M DREAMING A BIT EH? dovedale has GOT to be like this in places (hasnt it)? Yes mate done a fair bit round dovedale like you say three inches on the tops

  22. Its suprising how quick they recover even from horrific collisions leave the dog to it ive seen lasds use DGs on dogs to continue to work them thats something i wouldnt consider if the dogs not 100% it stays in
  23. Often take roading woodcocks but not with a camera love how they give you a little whistle to let you know which way there coming from and a croak as they fly over. Would have thought it would be hard to get a pic in that type of light and them flying as well. Be great to do though best of luck mate
