  2. If you have the knowladge, confidance and skill to do it, then yes I would say it was indeed humane I don't know the anatomy of the birds, so I would not have the confidance to take a heart shot yet However should I be in that situation where I do need to take a heart shot I will find an informative image showing the location of vital organs and study it, then the confidance would come, just as it has done with the bunnies I shoot Phantom here ya go buddy http://www.livingart.org.uk/illustrations/avian/pigeon-anatomy-copy.jpg http://www.livingart.org.uk/illustrati

  6. Thanks Davy, I was hoping for an hour or two tonight, but I had to go pick up my script after 19:00, then waited in the Pharmacy for what seemed like forever. I've just been watching my AAS200 Servicing DVD I'm thinking of giving it a good ole strip and a bit of grease on the sears and cocking bolt (starting to get a bit stiff/gritty). I also want to get some oil on the paint work. But now its spot on again at 30 yrds I don't want to do it until my new scope arrives later this week (hopefully) Tell you what though as soon as the DWP cough up the brass they owe me, I'm having a 10shot

  17. hi chris i fill to 170 bar 10 shots for checking zero in the field and then it should be on 160 bar, this should be on its sweet point. so you should hit ever thing from 15yds to 40 yds, with 0.5 mil dot for 10yds and 45 yds. manual get it here http://www.air-arms.co.uk/technical_pneumatics.html i use AIR ARMS FIELD in .22 & .177 they work best in my two AA. hope this helps! regards davy
  18. OH! archie you do make me laugh!
  19. hi Chris no lube in the barrel just gun oil,but i suppose it wont matter.just don't put it in and stand your rifle up as it will all run back to the breech yes i use both mamba's 3-12x44 is on me .177 AAS410K & 4-16x50 is on me .22 AAS410K putting a sling on your rifle is personal preference, i have slings on both my rifles as long as they are done properly and tight, then you should not have a problem with them. and always check them before and after you go in to the field, because thats when the accidents happen .from not doing your check test before you go out hope thi
  20. hi right here is my input i have seen plenty out in the morning just before sunrise,i have seen plenty out just before sunset.i have not seen so many out during the daylight hours, and this can vary from one permission to the next.but i also have seen them out on sunny days because they like to bask in it,windy days i have no idea, rainy days i have no idea too! although i have been out in these conditions, but cant think why they like being out in them! lamping it can vary between summer months and winter months & permissions, but mainly after midnight i have had most of my bags
  21. hi archie nice to here it and good shooting buddy regards davy
  22. hi chris cleaning your AAS410 basics a good wipe over with a oily cloth before and after being in the field, cleaning your barrel i use to clean every tin of pellets, but now i clean the barrel when i feel like it.referring to the mtc mamba 4-16x50 these are very good scope ideal for hunting and HFT comp shooting, very clear optics to.having the side focus is great too,not to far to stretch when adjusting.and magnification i use 4 for night shooting and 10 for day shooting and in low light/dusk i use 6 also keep an eye on the little grub screw on the back of the trigger ,it tends to come loose
