It's a shame you can't spell 'English'.......... More crap.
  4. You need to get hold of a copy of the BPCT manual available from the BPCA. The course and exam are based on this manual. It costs around £100, so it's not cheap, but it is the pest control bible.
  5. Wrong on all counts. No-one has a legal right to shoot a dog under any circumstances. Occupiers of land have a legal defence if they shoot a dog to stop it worrying livestock. That is not a right. Hares are game, and not livestock, so therefore, there is no legal defence available if a dog is shot while chasing a hare.
  6. While still in the release pen, pheasants are classified as livestock. Once released, they become wild game. It is an offence to 'take' (by any means) any game bird during the close season - even if it was by 'accident'. Why is this forum becoming so anti shooting? No need for it in my opinion; each man to his own........
  7. Buy some Fenns, and build some natural tunnels. No need to bait, and you will catch plenty.
  8. It will cost less to pay for two married women than one married and one single parent. Think about it........... Personally, I couldn't care less.
  9. How will you dispatch them if you can't use firearms?
  10. Insurance is like anything else; you get what you pay for. Like HoW, I employ people, so have to have employers liability as well as public liability. I do mine through Bradshaw Bennet, and get great service from them. If you have a problem, which could cost you thousands, you may regret trying to save a couple of hundred quid when the insurance doesn't pay out.
  11. There is no need to tune flatpacks unless you really want to. Flatpack traps will catch well straight out of the box.
  12. Barrettine sell them, or you could just type 'mousemesh' into google Dowen is a good fella, and I'm sure he'd give you a fair deal as well.

Got to agree. A really good read, and hard to put down. Parts of the book are very moving.
  14. Try reading the pinned topic on here. I always advise people to work for someone else first. At the very least it'll give you experience; at the best, it'll show you how the industry works. ATB
  15. It looks like the Killgerm multicatch squirrel trap to me. I think it was made by Bethel Rhodes. An OK copy of the original Fuller IMHO. I had one kicking about here.
  16. I don't think I've ever read such utter bollocks as this statement: If that was the case, then why did they set bombs off in town centres shopping centres and hotels? Whatever the rights and wrongs of British Rule in Ireland, the fact that these scumbags think they are above the law and can murder innocent civilians both in Ireland and on the Mainland means that they do not deserve the respect of any right thinking human being. I also think that as time goes on, we all have to accept that we cannot change the past, whether that is the British rule of Ireland, India and other c
  17. Just looking at this new site: www.ferreters.org.uk Looks quite interesting.
  18. Take a look at the pinned topics on here and go to www.trapworks.co.uk where you will find articles on snaring and snares & tealers for sale. Fourteenacre also sell the famous 'Woodga' rabbit snaring DVD, which is well worth the money.
  19. I'm a miserable b*****d. :-)

  20. No. Does anyone know how to hotwire a car?
  21. This has the making of one of those threads.... As Rolfe says; it's each to his/her own, but there is no doubt that many people don't bother about their traps and expect them to work well for years on end with little or no care. One of the problems with water based products (like oak bark) is that you really need to boil the traps in the product, which can have an adverse effect on the springs. I've never painted my traps - I'm not sure why, it could be because I've seen so many good traps covered in gloss paint hanging on pub walls - somehow it doesn't seem right... but as I say,
  22. Remember to linger on the 'consumate the marraige' bit. Your new bride will thank you.... lol

  23. I've also used the 'Slippery Creek' stuff which is water based. No-where near as good IMO. I think there could be a new importer of speed dip soon. Watch this space.
