  1. OI OI DEKAW WHERE DO YOU HUNT MATE ,,,LOCAL OR DO YOU TRAVEL? IM FROM NEWBIGGIN HALL NEXT TO THE NEW POLICE STATION SEE YA LATER SCOTTY IF ANYONE FANCIES A BIT SPORT ON THE LAMP IM ALWAYS UP FOR IT..... LATERZ Hi lads, I'm from Lemington, drink in Longbenton and hunt just about anywhere. Got hunting mates in West Allotment, Cramlington, Benton. I'm probably a fair bit older than you, but still get out with the dogs very regularly !! Cheers.
  2. The Queen has lurchers in her kennels at Sandringham. Peter Stringfellow got two from there and sent them to a Saudi sheik as a gift. A big smooth coated dog and a medium sized broken coated bitch. They had "pedigrees" going back 8 generations. Cheers.
  3. "Roe can't run fast"; "Border Terriers catching Roe"; I , (or more probably the person who wrote that nonsense !!), must be living in a parrallel universe !! The adult Roe in open countryside up here, Northumberland, can certainly run, and the bit about Borders is just insulting the intelligence of anyone who has run Roes with Lurchers. How many of these book writers have actually done a bit ? Cheers.
  4. Take the dog and lamp with you. Cheers.
  5. I'm certain the face picture is not genuine; firstly if it was caused by a firework, where is the burning, gunpowder residue or smoke damage ? Secondly, with such massive facial trauma, the eyes would either be swollen shut or popping out, CGI, I think !! The second picture is probably genuine; prolapsed rectum and SERIOUS hemorhoids !!! Cheers.
  6. Your'e catch depends on many things; not least the amount of game available; if it's not there. it can't be caught !!! How good are your'e dogs, how keen are YOU, how far are you willing to travell ? In the 60s & 70s we would travell 300 mile round trip and spend three nights in an old carravan to get bags of 150 +, these days it's only around the doors and 6 -12 rabbits is ok, the odd "big rabbit" or "very big" rabbit is a bonus, but it is still great fun !! Cheers.

    Cacti

It depends very much on the type of cacti; when I was living in the middle east, shop bought flowering types would die off in the winter, even though it was nowhere near freezing, whereas those collected from the desert thrived. They were all outside, so I think the shop bought ones were meant for indoors and not as hardy as wild types. I'm sure you could find out on the net which are more cold tolerant. Cheers.
  8. !; Airedale terrier. 2; Bedlington terrier. 5; Dandy Dinmont. 9; Whippet. 13; Saluki. Haven't got a clue about the others ! Cheers.

  11. Just type countrymans weekly into google, but it's a waste of time, it's not an online version like the various newspaper web sites, more like an advert. Cheers.

    Sloes

Found a few sloe's very near me, but I'm paranoid, as I found an excellent gooseberry bush, and some b*****d cleared it the day before I went to get them !! Fukc it, I'm going to pick them tomorrow, I've been told you can put them in the freezer instead of waiting for the frost, is that right ? Cheers.
  14. Just to comment n the statement that licking is the best thing for a wound; it depends on the wound. My Doberman came out of the quarantine kennels almost 2 years ago with a "lick graniola" , (kennel sore), on her paw. She licks it to the bone, three different vets have been unable to cure it and the only thing I can do to stop her licking is to put a plastic collar on her when she's alone, more than once it has appeared to clear up, then as soon as the collar is off, the licking starts again. I'm resigned to the fact that the collar will be needed every time she is alone for the foreseable f
  15. Good luck with the bitch and the pups, Jeff, I know she's a cracking little bitch. Look forward to seeing the pups. Cheers.
  16. Thanks Jeff, for posting the pics, you and the missus deserved to win, (who's winning now between you ? She was putting on a very brave face when I left !!). I have, as usual, put up my usual ascerbic take on the show, on HuntersUnited, but it's only tongue in cheek, remember !! Cheers.
