    I thought it was going to go "straight down the card", but was told by others that this was not the case. I haven't a clue as to how the next round will be drawn, and don't really care; as in any competition, you have to beat anyone you are drawn against to win !!Cheers.

    Three of the competitors have travelled up from Wiltshire, a 6+ hours train journey !! They are returning tomorrow, (sunday), as they have work on monday. So we have tro try our hardest to accomadate them. I've had dogs long enough to know when not to risk them, and even if this was the final, I wouldn't run my dog if I thought there was unneccasary risk. Cheers.

    I hope you can run the heat tonight CP but it's much the same out West mate,baltic conditions last night and on being out earlier it was still freezing hard,not looked at the forecast for tonight but it'll need to change drastically for "suitable" running conditions.All the best if you "get the green light" and go-ahead.Cheers Andy. Just checked the BBC weather site, and it -3 and fog for tonight !!! We'll have a look round, maybe find some sheltered areas, but not expecting many rabbits to be about !! Cheers.

    It's not looking to promising for my heat tonight ! I've been out this morning in the same area and the ground is like concrete !!! Heavy frost and a forecast for fog !!!     most sensible thing written on here in ages........ the next battle is stopping people thinking their crap dogs are good and breeding from them. There are far to many people breeding from dogs that have done nowt and bitches that are far to young !! My own bitch is 3 1/2 year old and has taken everything, will I breed from her...... yes if she has another three seasons of work equivelant to what she has allready done, and I can find a stud who is better than her at what she does, and MAYBE, then she will be bred from !     Wilf, this is not a critique', but how many dogs have you went through, until you have got the dog that is "up to scratch" ? Is a dog that may not be the "ideal"; not good enough to be given a permenant home ?? I am a person who has spent a lifetime looking for the "DOG", but am sensible enough to realise it ain't gonna happen !!! Cheers. Its a sensable post........to be honest, I have not gone through many (1 or 2).........but I belive that there are certain things you want your dog to do, there is one main criteria........it may do lots of other stuff well, or to a standard but it ma

    Unfourtunately, there is to many kids in the game now, who want a "top dog" at 6 month old !! They get pups, don't have a clue how to feed, train or house them; run them on hares, foxes, etc., at an early age, and when they don't do the "bizz", they are sold as "no fault of their own" !! Of course it is "No Fault Of Their Own" !! It's the fault of the owner !! Loads of well bred dogs spoilt !! To many people breeding "well bred lurchers", and to many "wannabee's" buying them !! Get a dog as a pup, rear it well, enter it when it's ready, and have a good dog for many years !! Cheers.

    Stangely enough, I have been talking to a guy I have just met, on the same subject ! He has been offered £2000 for his dog but said "no way" !! In my youth, dogs were just tools, buy, sell, swap, get rid if not good enough !! But now, as I have learned with age, a dog is for life !! cHEERS.

    I honestly don't understand how people can say "your dog/this breed will be no good for this type of land", etc. !! In the last few weeks I've ran all types of quarry at Lincs, Notts, North and South Yourkshire and Northumberland; very different types of land, and my dog has just got on with her job !!! Cheers.

    Mack, as you know, I've done a bit, (and still do!!!), around Northumberland, and before I got the wander lust, it was the ONLY place I worked my dogs, which at the time were predominately Whippets; if they could handle this ground, they could handle owt !!! LOL !!! Cheers.
