Do you remember an Italian place on Fawcet Street called Rino’s back around late 70’s early 80’s ? My oppo in Saudi was from Farringdon and when we were on leave at the same time we would have lock ins there. We always drank grappa and always ate gambaroni for some reason ! I often find my mind drifting back to those halcyon days ! LOL ! Cheers.

I’m sure I had that in a dockers pub in Hendon around 1973, or maybe my mind is playing tricks on me…. Cheers.

Hawk tuah curry ? Cheers.

Not up to mackems gastronomic delights; but cheese, biscuits, pickle onions, bag of Lidls crisps and a bottle of cheap South African plonk to consume whilst watching the darts ! Cheers.

I understand the importance of getting more fuel/air mixture into an engines and getting exhaust gasses out quicker. Many years ago, as an apprentice, I “blue printed” a Lambretta engine for use in scooter racing and sprinting. I had a one off inlet manifold fabricated to accept a Wal Philipps fuel injector, opened up and polished the inlet, transfer and exhaust ports and fitted an Ancelloti exhaust , amongst other modifications. It was completely intractable but went like the proverbial shit off a shovel. This was long before the eco nonsense and all I wanted to know was wha

Once again, I know this, but I don’t know what advantages are to be gained by taking it out or bypassing it ? What’s wrong with simply replacing it when the time comes, like changing other filters ? I’ve seen the yanks put in bypasses to avoid the draconian emissions laws in California, which simply operate on a switch. They do this to release power in the engine. Again , I ask what advantages would you be after by removing the valve here in the UK ? I know what it does, but again, I ask would it improve fuel economy, performance, what ? Pewitt has said so he wouldn’t ge

I know what it does; I was asking why take it out ? What are the perceived benefits? Is it cost effective ? How does it affect the M.O.T ? Its like fitting solar panels; forget the eco side of it, is it worth doing on a cost /benefit situation? Cheers.

Mackem, I could eat that every day of the week ! The only decision I’d have to make would be what drink to accompany it with ; a chilled white, a glass of port or a quality cider ! Decisions, decisions ? Bon Apetit.

In what respect, Wilf ? Genuinly , I don’t know. I was a member of the Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineer’s Association for many years, but I retired long before all these eco restrictions came into place. Cheers.

I’m genuinely intrigued ! What would be the advantage ? More speed ? Better fuel consumption ? I’m sure it would be easy to fabricate a by pass that was easily removed for the M.O.T ? Cheers.

She’d need both ears bandaged if she’d been engaged in a manage a trois with Wilfy and our friend from Hull ! LOL ! Cheers.

I’m not really into all this , so I could be wrong, but the way I understand it, the “White Hats” are sort of benign hackers that work for governments, companies, etc, protecting computers, data, etc, from the “Black Hats” who are malign hackers seeking to compromise the“establishments” equipment to bring down the capitalist system, to be replaced with… well, no one’s really sure. All a bit “yin & yang” the “dark side versus the light side”, the existential battle between good and evil. Probably all nonsense , but hey, as I keep saying ; conspiracies DO exist, but not EVERYTHING

C’mon, Stiffy ! The “white hats “ are the good guys; the “black hats” are the bad guys ! LOL ! Cheers.

Now I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with that statement and certainly not having a go, I’m genuinely interested in how covid has changed politics in a “massive” way. In the UK we continue to alternate between the legacy parties, Labour and Conservative. In the US, it’s still a two party state, alternating between the Republicans and Democrats. In Europe, yes, there has been a rise in Right Wing populist parties, but none of them have made the major break through , apart from maybe Hungary and to a lesser extent , Italy. So, as the Who song goes; “ here comes the new boss; sam

I know one person who died from the virus. I don’t know anyone who died from the vaccine. Therefore ; it’s 100% deaths from the virus, 0% deaths from the vaccine ! Complete and utter nonsense, of course, but as attributed to Mark Twain; “ There are lies, damned lies…..and statistics ! “. I’m sure the ongoing Covid Inquiry will give us all the answers we need ! ( Tongue in cheek). Cheers.

It WAS a veterans class. Cheers.

We once had Sir Patrick Moore, of “ The Sky At Night “ fame on a flight to New Zealand to study a solar eclipse. Of course I engaged him in conversation and he was his usual eccentric self, telling me all about Venus waining and mars rising when my pal butted in and asked “yes, but what about Uranus ? “. Old Patrick never missed a beat and replied “much as it ever was dear boy, but it does get a bit temperamental with age !”. I guess he’d been asked that one many times, but he still played along. Cheers.

When Trumps pick for VP was asked if he thinks any Islamist country will get nuclear weapons, he had no hesitation in replying there’s already one Islamist country with nuclear weapons, that’s the UK with a Labour government ! As I said, interesting times ahead ! Cheers.
