  8. Arrived at the top quarry for 9am,no wind & overcast, snowy looking sky.The snow had but gone but further up the dale it was still hanging around in patches. The grafters today were Jet & Ruby,no hob today as the rabbits would'nt have stood much chance of reaching the nets with the poor state they'd be in. Started off in the quarry bottom after seeing a couple fall into a set, quickset ran round & few nets placed started with 2 which looked like they'd had a bit of a feed. I clambered up the North quarry wall & ran the quickset rou

  12. It'll dump the air if it goes under 50 bar.To pump it up i think you need to pull the bolt back to seal the air chamber or it could be that the seal has gone but i never use my gun through the winter & it's allways been ready for use in the late spring the following year without any problems.
  13. Good result there Stu,looks like lower Tynedale has thawed nicely. All the tree trunks are stripped bare along the A69 towards Hexham..might explain all them "raisins" in your photo ...

  17. Well managed to get out after the big freeze, lazy Xmas routine & now being in FULL TIME work it's all been a whirlwind but back to living for the weekend .I landed at the bottom quarry for 9am & met up with the local moley/moocher & his terrier with the selective hearing .The snow had thawed nicely with the odd patch of ice on the way over to the sets next to the feeders. The grafters today were Amber & Potch which were keen as out to get into the action . The terrier was doing her thing & marking up,the rabbits were mainly in small sets & were'nt in the best of cond
  18. Managed to buy a Phillipine made 3.5-10x50 WTC & the scope is mint with original packaging. The optics & build are quality so can't wait to get out to zero it in...once the weather improves . Does anyone know if aluminuim sunshades are available for this scope??The objective lens looks like it's threaded for one,i've had a good search around with no joy but any info/links would be helpful
  19. Cheers Sean,it's the old adage"You get what you pay for".
  20. Im looking to upgrade my Hawke scope on my .22lr soon.I would like to buy a Nikon Fieldmaster but i have to watch the pennies.Anybody using a Chinese made Simmons at the moment or how do they compare to the older Phillipine made models?? I've had a trawl around tinternet & it seems that these made in China Simmons scopes ain't as optically good as the Phillipino models. If anyone has a Phillipine made Aetec 2.8-10x44/3.5-10x50 WTC for sale in mint/v good condition i would be very intrested in taking it off your hands Thanks Andy.....

  25. Mattydski,i have a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x44 AG on my AA S410 & it's a fantastic scope.Had it for 4 yrs now & it's never lost zero once.I use it for lamping also & it's a clear as a bell.I've never used Leupold,Zeiss, etc but for the money Nikon will give them a run for their money..well i would think so . When i have the cash i'll be changing the scope on my 22 LR to a 3-9x50 Fieldmaster & when i purchase my .17 HMR in the summer it'll more than likely have a Monarch sat on the top of it . For me the build quality is excellent & the glass is pin sharp even at max mag
