  1. You can inbreed as tight as you want until it blows up in your face, then just back up a step and start over again. I have made all of these tight cross with mixed results just like on an outcross litter. Most people on this internet are just tryin to blow smoke up your ass and talk bullshit theories they have that they got from some other jack ass on the internet. Do your own experimenting and breeding and see for yourself. If the cross dont work dont blame the relationship, blame the f****n dogs. They are the ones that need the blame not what particular cross it was. Good producing dog
  2. Our staghounds have quite a bit a shot of "deerhound" in them and I wouldnt know how you could breed better all arounders for catchin game. They can catch and kill just about anything they take a mind to do.
  3. Thanks! I appreciate that. My buddy deserves all the credit though cause he raised em.
  4. Of cousre they aint perfect but we have some staghounds that can do hare and coyote. Any dog that can do hare and coyote can easily do rabbits, fox, and deer. Our deer are like 3/4 the size of a "Red Stag" and yes they can and do get done. They are not perfect though of course but they get it done. I suppose they are kind of like yalls greyhound/deerhound type dogs but not really the same thing of course.
  5. Thanks for the replys fellas and I can definately see your point. I have watched my big 85 pound stag scoop up cotton tails around my house like they are childs play in some very tight places with fence and vehicle, horse trailers, and junk laying everywhere. I just assumed that there are probably some real good field greyhound around the 70 pound mark that could make him look silly at that game is all.
  6. I like this thread, of course I do, I started it but, I hope it keeps going. I have my own opinion on this subject and I just cant see the need for a "lurcher" for daytime hunting. I have no problem with that style on the lamp but for daytime I just think that "speed" kills. You take that however you want but a good dog will be extremely fast and extremely under control and extremely deadly on their game. I truely believe that if people bred "field type" greyhounds that there would be absolutely no need for "lurchers" for daytime hunting in any terrain. By the way, I dont distinguish from
  7. I believe if I were to run hare or fox I would have to go to the greyhound blood. I just would think they would be far superior to anything else. Not for lamping really cause I know nothing of that but for catchin hare and fox in the daytime.
  8. I sure wish more folks would respond to this. This has always had me wondering and I want to hear as many opinions as possible. I would think even a slow greyhound could catch a fox at least they should be able to.
  9. I know there is a ban and stuff but talkin about yalls pre ban here. How come I dont here more talk about greyhounds being the real deal fox dogs? I would think that a greyhound would be the ultimate fox dog but I guess I may be wrong. I am speaking completely day time running here, not lamping at all cause I know nothing about it.
  10. dirtwinger, I know nothin about running jack rabbits but I have heard from people that have traveled all over the world running them buggers and they say that running down around where you live is the ultimate test of a hare dog. I aint sayin cause I am tryin to be smart, I am sayin it cause thats what those who have hunted just about everywhere in the world have told me.
  11. Nice videos. Musics a shade on the gay side but the dogs look good. HAHA!
  12. Just compare these hard dessert bred dogs to these slab sided KC dogs. There is no comparison.
  13. No honest person can look at these photos and tell me that the KC's dont f**k up everything.
  14. No KC dog will ever perform with them rangy hard lookin desert fuckers. That oughta get the pot stirred a bit. I told yall that all Americans are assholes. HAHAHA!
  15. We both know where he came from and I thank you again. Seriously gents, this fella here knows what a good dogs is and give me that dog and I appreciate it. I have caught a bunch of yotes before this yella dog but he makes it alot easier. Thanks again Andy. I cant tell you how many dogs I culled to get one like him. I turned everything I had loose in the yard today though and they all were perfect. Its taken me 7 or 8 years to get what i have but I got them now and its good.
  16. Torchey, I like the looks of that black and white dog also. I had a 1/4 staghound, 1/4 greyhound, 1/4 treeing walker hound, 1/4 mountain cur one time that I called Tennessee that looked just like that dog. Almost identical actually. I never kept him though but his brother which I called Kentucky, I kept him and he was top notch. Not nowhere near as good lookin as his brother nor your dog though. Very nice lookin dogs on here for sure. Something about them 3/4 crosses I really like.
  17. That pup there belongs to this retarded buddy of mine from out east.
  18. They're just coyote dogs partner. Been bred this way over here for a couple 100 years I guess. Thats how the story goes but you cant always believe the story. Anyhow, there aint really no cross though, just coyote dogs.
  19. foxfan, Outstanding lookin dogs there bud.
  20. Not really sure what black pup you are referring to.
  21. Abby tryin to get the coyote in the truck so we could get the dogs to water down by the creek. It was hot enough and just thought we should get them to water. Anyhow, Stitch always has to make damn sure the yote is dead before he will turn loose so he pulled it away from her and took his new buddy out for drink.
