Came away with plenty of great runs Phil on all diffrent quarry an terrain an freezer was always full for slow cooker. Plenty of foxes up them ways we lamped too. Then a bought myself a saluki x an that was me hooked on coursing through the day. Plenty of walking the land which suited me an still at it today. A won't kill something for the sake of it. Like lads on here expected me to slip on loads of roe other month.

Not bad to be fare one got chased by operations galileo in Lincolnshire with a chap off here dimmok don't know if he's still on here. At the time we was on the land by 9.30 was onto us by about 10.30 the law didn't catch us till round about 4.30. Coppers who were on at the time said it's once of best chases they'd done at the time. Dimmock wanted to throw towel in an stop but a told him if we managed to get back down the river side were home an dry. I was out at roughly them times Terry an back in for 4 to 6 ish an it's some miles. Like a said to get to the land where there was most quarry on the south yorkshire side of Barnsley mapelwell it was 7 miles to get to there an 7 back after walking the land round that area. If we went to the other side of Flockton Huddersfield area on every part of land round there your talking 7.4 miles or that's just walking not on land then another 4.7 miles just walking not on land that jumps it upto 26 miles. So ad say All in all 30 odd miles. I thought it was about 40 but take in walking the land too its

Am fit as a flee mate it might of been abit Longer are lass says you wasn't back in till gone 6 in morning out at 11 ish. But still to get to where we was working the areas an back home was ad say 40 miles after walking all the land too. It was 7 miles just to get to the top end from walking pugnies then untoward a place called new Miller dam then up towards Barnsley the surrounding areas up there and towards Flockton. People who know them areas will know its some distance to walk. But had some good times an plenty of quarry. I worked it out from them areas I put down in one of my other commen

You can think what you want a don't have to prove shit to you. I'm telling you I've tracked about 40 miles in all. From setting off from my property to the areas I've said you think what you want. Am guessing in this marine commando test your carrying all your equipment ? How much weight in all are they carrying. Your talking safe Wellies I believe you mate. Mine at the time were Le Chameau wellies very comfortable a wouldn't change wellies now.. I had some hunters Balmoral when they first came out but were too heavy for walking that distance believe I had a few blisters at times. So the local saddlery took them back an swapped for a pair of Le Chameau never looked back. Your talking walking on the road most of the time too eh Danny. You wouldn't want to be carrying quarry about poaching at night phil. Your back next day in motor. I've not done all that walking to not come home without any quarry for slow cooker. At least then you can argue your case if you do get pulled over by the law. I've been stopped on times by the law just asking where were going. An not worried like you would in a motor. Use Google map a nice few hours walk A61 onto windmill Lane upto woolley edge onto breton Lane then to west breton right onto A636 then a will leave it from there a good 15 miles. When you Google map it you'll see all the land round them ways all the way upto Flockton an midgley. f***ing love to see some on here do a good walk. Never mind dog opening it's lungs a think many on here need it.

A good day time walk for me is 15 miles. We all don't drink , sit in a motor or jump out onto some land where there's a set waiting. A bet there's a few guys on here that enjoy a good old mooch than driving round in a motor. A can do a normal day time walk thats 15 miles from Wakefield towards Barnsley to edge of Huddersfields at flockon peace of piss. Its strange how some people on here are easy to say your lieing it's unreal

( Sorry sir a thought it was public right of way) NO IT f***ing ISNT NOW f**k OFF. Most poachers & fellas with permission who lamp on a nite nowadays are out at 8pm an in by 10pm got to get them few pints in before bed. A know a few lol. A used to rocking up home at 4 in morning hard winter out at midnight. Good pal used to come out with me walking a good 40 mile round trip no driving round in motors messing land up taking the piss. Times have changed poachers nowa days let land owners know they've been by f***ing it up for decent men that love an respect the game.

This is why your better off doing your own thing Danny an leaving the invites on land. I've seen it in past lads falling out over daft petty shite. I do believe some change when they get permission become proper tools. One lad local to us used to poach some land that we all used to have a mooch on local. Well if you didn't have a dog to run an he could still get numbers down for you on the permission what was the problem. Your there to do a job an if you've not got a dog to work then your no good to the land owner really are ya ? The Lad might of been doing you a favour until you got back on your feet with a dog. If you said he seemed to be a decent fella a couldn't see the problem. You could of given him a chance with his pal an told the land owner you've got a chap coming to do some work for you both. Keeps every one happy.

Well all first rounds are moved on divider down. One of the pairs has just hatched its second round. There's 4 was 5 but one didn't make it out of its shell which was a shame. Other pairs should be here shortly give it a couple of days. Few pictures of the young ive moved on into a cage flight seem to be lovin it being able to fly up and down the flight.

Going through some old photos an came across this one. Can't get over it's over 15 years ago when my lad was 6 an my nephew 5. Now my lads a qualified mechanic an welder , own motor an new home him and his misses have just bought. I'm proud of him and his misses she's just past at university to be a pathologist good money but not a nice job not something I'd like to do being round dead bodies all day.

What does me is fellas that moan abart poachers because going back many moons they'll of been doing the same when young when first starting up with a lamp an lurcher , or in local woods or bankings with a few nets an ferrets trying to find there way in life not knowing its owned by someone. If it was me I'd wait now till next season. Get everything ready for the bird. Then come October he'll be able to pick a nice mule maybe abit cheaper with a few being abart. Alot that are being advertised now ive found are over year birds maybe a few years old or held back for one reason , that's to try an get abit more money on people that are green. He may pick one up that's decent but that's a maybe. How's your birds doing any fertile eggs yet. -
I've had to learn to hold my catty in my right hand and pull the bands back with my left hand .. " Because I'm having trouble shutting my left eye when im taking my shot. Doesn't matter how hard I try to close It , I end up closing my right eye at same time just start squinting . A know it sounds daft but I'm thinking of getting a patch because ive got a left handed catty lol. It can't be just me that has this problem out there ffs haha.
