Morning guys just a quick update on the bullfinch chicks. I've ended up with 4 out of 5 so not bad for last years birds. Cock bird can't fault him tending on the hen & young. Hens the same great little hen. Looks like there's 3 pastels & 1 normal from the looks of their eyes.

Well thought I'd have the day off work seen as though weather's picking up. Go for a nice walk with dogs. This silly little shite thought Al up you one to stafford and came walking with this big arse lump of a stick. Wife was like ffs . Now it's out of season it's just fun & games with dogs now. A can't do with these that hunt all the way through the breeding season. A lad near me has killed everything with shooting out of season. Used to be loads of rabbits around our way. Enough for lads to go with Ferrets & have a good day's work. But that knob just killed everything off. Luc

They need rounding up & f**k off back. This started since we left Afghanistan in my eyes. All muslims think we went weak since then. All you hear on some threads on youtube. Them over in the east chanting on about how they run us out. We was there over 20 f***ing years abouts. This has been planned to take over Europe nodoubts about that. Something that we already knew . We need to do the same as Australia. Soon as they hit our waters have the military gather them up lock them up. Then deal with them one by one. Refuse them entry. Then on a plain back over to their native country. So dam easy. Don't let them go to these hotels then go on the run. They need locking up.

Cheaper than keeping a horse That's what a keep telling the miss. Like having a second mortgage keeping a horse. True it's the buzz a get mate. I've just woken up this morning to a round of four goldfinch chicks. It's all moving now in the birdroom. I've loads that have fledge already. I've another brown goldfinch hen that's gone down on three eggs. She's a carrier of chev her mother was a brown chev. So hopefully get some brown chev from her. I've put her to a none visual pied a bred last year.

See this man jimmy. He's started doing abit of bird gear. He's a koi man but goes over continent and seen there was some money to be made in the bird gear. So much of the for the koi & birds are in the same areas in Belgium. Plus He's over in China and they do alot of the bird products too drinkers feeders much more cages. Have a look He's not bad on price either.

First round fledged. Hens sitting on second round of eggs. But this time goldfinch eggs. This is the cock bird feeding the fledglings through the mesh dividers I put up.

We've all done it Terry been out and taken a image with quarry. Look at these that go on game shoots over continent. Stood there with the foot on the quarry or holding the head up on the beasts. So we can't just knock youngens. They just need educating. It's okay to take an image just don't put it on public forums. Some have put images up on here. Back in the day I've done it.

Brilliant It's fathers & grandfathers dreams for their children to take up the hobby's they've done for years. Passing the skills on. My skills are shite with a catty. A showed my lad how to hold & shoot the catty & he's better than me . Same with the air riffle , a showed him how to look down the scopes and aim. Got to the point that he knew best like kids do. Lol.

It's strange that they carry this disease Green Finches. My pal years ago used to collect eggs from green finches. Many song birds. Think back in the 50s & 60s it was the norm egg collecting. He used to collect eggs plus keep birds. And he told me about the Green Finch & this disease. Told me don't buy any Green finches off guys you don't really know. Because they may of been wild caught.

Doesn't matter if you've double mesh the finches will still bounce off the mesh. My pal had a siberian goldfinches rip its full mouth off nearly due to smashing into mesh. They just go scatty

I wouldn't kill a sparrow hawk mate. But a know pals of mine that have. They've spotted them hitting the flight fronts. One lad was getting pestered every day. Going in to birds dead through shock with bouncing off the wire. And this guy had double mesh on the out and inside the fights. The sparrow hawk kept jumping on to flight then onto this post. Well my pal put a fenn trap on post. Came back from work and no more sparrow hawk.

Dogs like that are ment for one thing protecting a yard chained up nice warm kennel well fed. Not walking down road by some 6 stone wet wipe walking like he's some big hitter. We should do what that chap does on train spotting. I've got it in sight miss money penny So you know what to do guys if you see a chav an a XL bully. Get the catty out of glove compartment lol.

A know that mate. Bit of knowledge is good mate thanks. With it being a little black fly. The old chaps said black fly. A think many insects will destroy your veg. Fruit fly don't just eat fruit do they. Many a time I've had them running threw potatoes on kitchen side in summer months. When I've had to buy from shop. The bag has been covered in the b*****ds. One point we even had the in bread bag. Lol. A said to wife you need to by a bread f***ing bin. Sick of seeing these little b*****ds crawling in bread bag.

Yeah it says that it comes on beans the black fly. But like you say you don't see them just holes everywhere over the carrots nightmare. I feed the goldfinch the Marigolds. A find the darker ones have the stronger smell. The smaller Marigolds the original you could say. Not the fancy ones

My grandfather used to put his old mirror news papers in the trench with some well done manure. His onion were grand. He used to have a collie cross patch lovely cross breed dog she was. She used to come up to allotments never stood on his patches. Always walked on path. And when she got bored of being there , she used to walk home which was just down the road. And sit on the front door step. With us living over the road my mother used to ring my grandmother up and say patch is home on door step she must have got bored lol.

Just brought it up Arry. Think that old chap told me some shite. But right a small black fly. So when he said black fly that's the name they used back then aswel has carrot fly. But with it being a fly eating carrots. The name carrot fly must have grown. But really it's not the fly that eats the carrot , It's the fly larva. The fly lays it's eggs on the carrot top then the larvae beds it's self down into the soil.

Yeah I got told thats the real name for carrot fly. Black fly by an old gentleman down allotments. Because a said when a first start what's all these black little holes in my carrots. That's when he said black fly but people call them carrot fly.

Love the dog pissing on veg it's about right init for a dog. Got all areas on plot to piss where there's nothing there. And goes for the lovely purple sprouted broc lol.
