  1. Don't walk my dogs don't see the point as they are wank and will never catch anything just wish I had super dogs and was a proper hunter like yourself
  2. Father in law had a springer that lived till 19 , she worked till she was 12 and last retrieved a dummy a week before her death,
  3. You do know the average human walks at 3 miles an hour so to do 20+ miles your talking about 7 hours non stop ..... Me thinks your talking bollox
  4. Don't know about any where else but co.down in the north is rife with bTB. Know of 3 herds (big ones at that) all within ten miles of each other all closed with it
  5. Minshaws , whinshaws, brickshaws are old news you all want to get one of them Chidshaws heard there the bees knees and gonna be the next big thing
  6. One of them saluki/borzoi things on belfast gumtree for £70 any relation to the one in your pics?
  7. i think that would be my first choice if i could find a worker lots out there mate bigland boy seems popular and whip / grey on here has one and i know his rabbits every day cos its on my permission ( watch out for the mantraps bob) and paddy (he was bred by sowhat on here out of jack the lad) has thrown well to a variety of bitches his latest litter are to a wheaten cross bitch and they look real nice, i believe all 9 pups were spoken for at two days old thats gotta say something. He is in NI I've told him about a good working half bred I know, Think he as left it a bit late to orga
  8. Can't say I dislike any and would own any cross , having said that I'd chose a colliex over any other cross.
  9. Very nice type can't see that being there long Wish I could of took it off you
  10. Learn something new everyday lol. Over here everything is on fac even air rifles. Makes sense so much easier Does apart from the air rifles can't own one unless on fac even under 12ft/lbs
  11. Learn something new everyday lol. Over here everything is on fac even air rifles.
  12. Bloody hell you only need 2 over here Do you guys have 2 certs if you have both sgc and fac or is it all on one
  13. A whippet or any whippet x should do them jobs
  14. Night before. Then fed when we get back after a good warm down , my dogs have never lacked energy when out and I've had em out all day running about then out on the lamp at night.
  15. No but I wanted to ask the lads there opinion. The lads opinions ain't worth feck all looking at a picture to try and guess what a dog is you need to see it in the flesh and then at least half of the time you will be wrong. If you like the bitch take her, if not don't . Don't be worrying what cross she is , I've never bought a dog because of the cross it is it's because I liked it , to many people get hung up on crosses (saluki for stubbornness, collie for brains ect) when all that should matter is the dog itself .
  16. It's a LURCHER. does it matter what way it's bred? All that should matter is if it will do the job or not
  17. i need one 100% first cross, working,an no yodeling This is f1xf1 (still half bred) ferrets, lamps and deffo wouldn't make a noise .. And he as sired a couple of litters before
  18. Get a good working whippet/grey over her ... I know of a good un what you might be able to use
  19. My preference in dogs is collie xs so I'd chose one of them having said that a well bred whippet/grey is hard to beat at the bunnys
  20. ive never heard that before or believe it 50/50 in my opinion if you put a beddy dog on a whippet bitch its 1/4 beddy 3/4 whippet was big into greyhounds few years back always looked at the bitch first if i was getting a pup thats why i said id see other opinions Don't talk rubbish
  21. feck that ive got a bullx Well my bullx will sit, lie down and roll over he will also sit on hand signal , he did sit on the whistle but haven't kept that going . Why not have a well trained dog it's easier to work with than a point and slip .. Summertime walks are great for learning the dogs new stuff.
  22. i know few lads use lads that use line bred (bull, collie, grey) but they do top up the bull in there mix, fair amount so dont loose the bull tenacity. These are good lurchers that pre ban were good fox+deer dogs, but straight ( colliex grey x bull x grey) could be hit+miss temp, you might get the softer temp of the collie come through .!! I've seen a couple of good ones some with more collie than bull and some more bull than collie one thing they had in common is they were bred out of dogs doing the job, the one here is 1/2 beardie collie x 3/8 bull but you'd swear he was just bea
  23. The one we have here is alright at rabbits but wouldn't touch a fox (legal here in NI) unless ran with another dog then he still hot potatoes them at times. Think if there bred out of the right stuff then should make a very handy cross.
