  1. I would need to see the problem but usually it's something really subtle. The shell lifter is often the issue but my first call would be to completely clean and dry the whole action of lubricant! That's right run it completely dry! Including the trigger group. Often years of oil soak up years of combustion material and retard moving parts. The fact a heavier cartridge just about operates the action supports this assumption! ?
  2. Gout tablets check, hemeroid cream check.
  3. It should cycle the eley. Just what exactly was the malfunction?
  4. Farmer said the same. His barley yeild is right down.
  5. Heck thank you so much Mr and Mrs Stavros.... especially Mrs Stavros, I really like her ?xx ...living legend my arse.....
  6. Same farm track as last week tonight. I got some intel off youngratter who visits on here sometimes that he heard a fox howling etc. Sure enough at the farm end was a cat and a fox. They seemed to be sparring. I managed to get to about 120yds when the clever fox got in the pasture field to my right so I made for a gap in the hedge and as the road is elevated had a good view only by the time I did view the thing was 30yds away watching me! By the time I got the safe off it had trotted away to 40yd but a mouse squeak stopped it and a Hornady 20g flattened it with barely a twitch!
  7. Yeah, it happens. I've done it to, years ago...other keepers say the same.
  8. For a few years I used a combination gun in hornet and 12g. A friend had one in 20g and 22. They were very good.
  9. Sure, when I was doing a lot of rabbits from a vehicle it was tops but now I don't so.....
  10. Funny you say that....I've never been thrilled with a 22! Yes yes they are good but no, for me they are kind of boring and give little performance. Now if I had a choice between a 357 and 22 I'd take the 357! It can be loaded cheap, has some horse power and or can be popped out the barrel. At the start of this I did say that if I am going to use a rimfire let's get one that does something....implying a 22 don't....for me that is.
  11. You told me you are very much in tune with your feminine side ?
  12. Yes please stav ? Thank you. Very kind.
  13. Love the boots...want some? My granddaughter loves going my local gunshop/ country store as they sell sweets. It's a real chore ?
  14. Be careful shooting high wire trapeze fox artists! Always make sure you have a safe back stop!
  15. You mean the most mardi micro lurcher in the world? She is ok. Here she is, taken on Saturday.
  16. To be absolutely honest...I've been a little unkind to it in the past. It has plenty of reach to make shooting at crows interesting. It's quiet. Safe and no worse in the wind than WMR, probably better. The hornady 20g is beating the new Winchester 20g in reliability and suffering less cracked cases but the hornady 20g bullet is slightly tougher than the Winchester.
  17. I have no idea what your all jabbering on about but heck, good haul ? ATB.
  18. Shall we say on the edge of my central patch is a farm drive of concrete. Wheat one side, pasture the other. A dog fox barked as I walked up the drive but I had not seen any eyes so I gave a good squeal. By the second squeal he appeared. He stopped at 100yds or so side on. Fairweather sent the 20gn Hornady into the ribs and flattened Charlie with barely a twitch. I couldn't find the in or the out but it certainly did the job perfect.
  19. Lots of folk put faith in science and technology but for every good thing to come from them there is probably a dozen bad things!
  20. Lead as a metal is not a problem. It's when it is changed chemically or combined with other elements and or as an oxide it becomes dangerous. Unfortunately jo blogs public don't understand that and anti hunting groups know that too so they induce fear upon the uneducated
  21. Still lots of grain standing here. Farmer says he saw a pheasant and chicks today. Think them two recent vixens has done some good!
  22. I sincerely hope though that wild grouse shooting does not stop. That is done ethically in my opinion.
