I agree. I have seen many a fantastic event from fox's over many decades . Their abilities never ceases to amaze me.

50yds. I will be 75yds away but my car won't be skylines again!. If that fails there is the decaying caravan they will put in the right place and I will make a suitable shooting position from within. It will be worth it as I think a new line for regular visitors is being established here right now!

Well that went better! But no cigar. I got fired yesterday so thought I may as well go sit for slinky2. She turned up on time, kind of ignored the little security light but did not go to the bait! Hence, never entered the shooting lane. She trotted past the light towards me and around the corner. I never saw her again and by 1AM I was falling asleep. The light kept coming on to a rat but that stopped around 11PM so I think she was about but not committing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she recognises my car! Oh and it's a big fox. As in fat. "what’s the distance public need to be away for shooting" Don't think you can shoot the public at any distance lol. Hmmm. They will check it out and be in touch with you. You can inquire how the application is going and whether or not you need to fit a cabinet.

It will need to be in place when they pay you a visit. There is only a couple of reasons you could be turned down. The golf course is in the middle of a housing estate or you've got certain convictions. If non of the above apply get the cabinet fitted ?

Thanks mate. Very kind of you. I'll keep saving I think. I'm torn to be honest. I've not got many fox's about at the moment but that could change. I did want to carry the rifle in the day a lot come spring and don't want to get another rifle specific to night work. I would be upset if the optics on the 008 left a lot to be desired!

Well that's what concerned me the most. The loss of eye relief forcing a change in mounting the rifle for a shot and consequently spoiling the handling....
