  1. Didn't have to look far mate. It was in the same place as last time. It was very bright so I had to cover my bright yellow and blue check pj's up. Joking aside. I don't mind the moon. The wind is worse than the moon.
  2. My 457 took this dog fox tonight. Nice 100yd shot. Totally ignored the spotter lamp and the gun lamp. Had to stop him for the shot. Perfect placement and complete pass through. Ran 40yds and piled up.
  3. Well done Stavross ? you're a good'n. Good for you Patterdale ?. You'll look well tidy in the village in that.
  4. Stav, don't let it ruin your day now. Best wishes for Patterdale. Will I have to do a dance off?
  5. Yep and they would deny it as it is illegal and they probably have an environment and ecology team to spread BS to us! I once knew someone that would travel afar to collect a diseased rabbit for land owners! I hate it and the hate I feel boils my blood!
  6. I'm glad you still have rabbits. The big wigs around here have spread vhd.
  7. Hmr operate at a velocity where copper deposits build up. Just the same as most center fires. After a while they need a good copper solvent.
  8. It's good that you are hitting a 2" target at 100 Ben but we're they in the center or spread all over it or were they just on one edge? When was the barrel de- coppered?
  9. Group size? Is it a new or different batch of ammo?
  10. Have you got wind, no not you, I mean is it windy? Or is it the notorious heavy trigger on them there Brownings.
  11. Yes but I have already benefited from Stavs kindness before now so....?
  12. A friend of mine got a Sako in the 22-250. He had quite a few failures. Shallow splash type wounds with a few bullets tried. It reminded me of a Remington I had in 243 with deep rifling and it's bullets of any weight or type would explode! Out of desperation I asked him to produce a load that mimics 223 velocities and the problems went! Ofcourse he could not accept it so returned to full on 250 performance and yep, the fails reappeared, hair and skin but no fox. Weired wounds on still alive fox's! It was not good. I suggested he gets the barrel lapped but he just looked a
  13. I use to use sst bullets Si. Hornady products are good. When I was using them they still had a lead tip! Nothing wrong with cheaper rifles. Some might need some special treatment but I've never done bad with bargains. I've had friends buy expensive rifles and have issues or shot no better! Don't give up on the 204, those superfast rounds only have to hit a bug or blade of grass and its gone. You'd never know what happened. Saw a 17 Remington fail loads of times in the rain and a 22-250.
  14. Your willy needs a bag of ice, not warming up!!
  15. I'm never happy with rifle slings, to slack, to tight or to slippy. However, I've just seen this video. Looks like a good idea. What say yee?
  16. "Sneak up"&"150yards" seem at odds with each other! Just how far was it when you spotted it? The extra breathing holes look perfect to me also?
  17. I've decided to splash out on some maize stubble common. What you think?
  18. If no one wants it Stav I would like it but I pay the postage! See if anyone else wants it though.... Your a gent.
  19. OK so I just picked up a new 455 in hmr and 500rds of various ammo makes. I built the rifle up and zeroed at 25 paces. Got it something like and moved to 50 paces and shot this off a tripod. It wants to shoot, I was moving as much as the targets. The trigger is sweet.
  20. Hmm, I have shot many now in the bib, most go down, some go on a death run. Some get a second shot just because. I never recommend head shots with anything on fox and deer but that does not mean I never, I just don't recommend it, heads move around to much! Most side on shots they go straight down. If you can't get close to half moa groups something is wrong. They have improved the brass yes.
  21. Oh, blah blah nonsense. Quad seal my arse! ?
