  1. There are loads by me, and kites too, it used to be a special thing to see a bird of prey when I was a kid, now they are like crows

    The two we kept

I've had a bit of a set back with my pup, the brown and white one, she managed to dislocate her hip in November and vet has proscribed 6 months cage rest and lead walking. A disaster in my opinion for a 9 month old pup at the start of her first season. She's missed the season and has been driving me mad to the extent that I've farmed her out to my mum. There's too much going on around me with the other dogs and such and it was winding her up so much stuck in the crate that she was wild as soon as she came out. Life is more sedate with my mum and it sounds like she's settled well and is getting
  3. I think i won a photo comp on here with at the time! I didn't take it, my wife did, but it is a great photo
  4. This is the dam to that litter
  5. A few more of my old boy and his pups
  6. Thats a lovely dog. How tall is he?
  7. Its a fair point, he is certainly an old dog. He sired 8 a year ago though. Shame yours wasn't available sooner really, I put him across my busher as I didn't want to lose the blood and didn't know of a decent whirrier bitch. I would like to put a whippet across one of the bitch pups once they've proved themselves to try and recreate him. A pup from him and yours would be quicker though!
  8. And some of the pups from last litter
  9. Hes 13 now. Heres a few pics of him in his prime
  10. He is 21tts and the old dog in bottom pic, the other 2 are his pups from my 12tts pat springer bitch. The biggest dog pup from that litter made 23tts, im just trying to find a pic of him
  11. I have the dog Jai and Owain are talking about. Hes old now but sired a litter of 8 last year. He has been a really good dog for me and done stuff I never expected. He is first x whippet russell rather than 3/4, he did throw leggy pups though
  12. I tried one for rats and put a trailcam on it. They seemed to like the bait but were able to duck the bolt and were then wary of it. I gave it up as a bad job in the end. The youtube vids show it working great, maybe my rats are just ninjas
  13. I paid about £90 to have my .243 cut down and rethreaded but that was quite a long time ago. If the gunsmith is open I will get a quote and see what they charge now
  14. Thats exactly how I use mine. Its a great gun just gets caught on stuff and niggles me. I will take it to a decent gunsmith and get it done right. It'll need reproofing anyway
  15. That is good to hear. Mine isn't unbearable but handling will definitely benefit from shortening. I just wanted to check with some more knowledgeable brains before made the decision
  16. Thanks Walshie, once the world is open again I will be visiting the gunsmith
  17. Thank you Benbhoy, thats exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated ?
  18. If you are referring to a drug dealer i wouldnt know where to find one. Its unbecoming to get bitchy just because you came across a bit strange on a different thread and I had a different opinion. It just makes you look daft all over again. If you have anything useful to say with regards to my questions I'd be interested to hear it.
  19. I have a Howa 223 with a neilsen mod and really like the rifle and the calibre. My only gripe is that its a bit long. What would be the consequences of getting the barrel shortened? I know I would lose some feet per second but what difference will that make in real terms? I rarely shoot over 200 yards and usually under 150. Will shortening make much difference?
