  1. So I’ve tracked down this little lot to try out.

    SK Subsonic .22LR Hollow Point x50 £7.95

RWS Subsonic Hollow Point x50 £7.45

    Norma Subsonic .22LR Lead Hollow x50 £5.30

    Lapua Centre-X .22LR x50 £11.25

Those lapua’s better be good!!! ? although I may not bother with them, as I don’t think I would buy them if they one holded five rounds.

  2. Found myself with an afternoon free, so, decided that I needed to get some rounds though my cz .22lr at 50yards, take my time to go back over brands I’d pied off. This will be photo heavy, so apologise.

both eley’s out performed the cci’s and everything out performed the Winchester’s. My preference is the 38g eley’s so I’ll get and some more of them and see what else I can find.

    Cheers

  3. I’ve ordered the rimfire magic spring and tube kit £15 posted.

@Longshanx yes the rifles only a few week old, but when looking at rifles the trigger was the only bit that was a minor negative, and a very minor one. It not terrible, there’s a some creep I’d like to eliminate and while I’m there a lighter spring is a bonus. I can’t leave anything alone for long, I do promise myself that I’m not going to spend money on personalising everything but I can’t help myself ??

Thanks @PLEDGEY for the video, I could listen to his midland tones all day ? and for everyone’s advice. ??

    Depends on a person's skills.

I study the action of the trigger with a magnifying glass first. Some triggers you can physically see the sear movement caming the hammer or striker spring back. No trigger spring adjustment is going to help there. The angles of contact have to be changed and it is so fine a degree you can hardly tell.

It involves small fine stones, patience and care.

? although I’m not a complete idiot, I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that level of work as an amateur. Is it something that can be sent off and polished or does the rifle have to be complete to to do the work?

  5. Fair play, and even though a spring is just a spring, I think I’d want one that been used 1000’s of times for the same purpose.

And for £15 posted (I called them up and they’re having issues with their website) I will feel a little more comfortable.

    Cheers anyway ????

Already these poorly educated folk are trying to pick holes in the revised licences.

They have won once, they know they can make an impact now. This is how it will be, and the bigger fuss that’s made, the more uneducated (in shooting terms) will join them. Slippery slope?

If NE had taken the time to do this properly and shut them down. No one on the outside would have known any difference. But by NE acting the way they did every Scott’s women with a pet crow is involved now, and on “their” side.

If she's pleasant and good company, you go for it laddie.

Be aware, a dinner date might set you back a fair few quid but, I have found, most large ladies are supreme cooks so, you'll get a great dinner in kind.

She might even happily cook what you shoot!

    All the best.

??? you can’t shoot stuff! And cook it! You crazy fool! ?

I get what they’re saying, to a point. But, the majority of people shooting birds on the list do so with a reason, I shoot the crows in my garden and the field behind me that I have permission on because they’re a f***ing menace and since I have they stay well clear of my garden, and as a result the amount of song birds I have nesting in my garden is amazing. My neighbors garden on the other hand is swamped by crows and no song birds.

If I was shooting birds for the just to shoot something I’d be hitting the robins too.

The first crow I see in the garden hassling the nesting birds will get it.

With our nanny state we will soon say good bye to game shooting along with  salmon and trout fishing because god forbid someone might be doing it for reasons that someone in an office 200 miles away says isn’t on a list.

i also trap the mice in my garage and shoot the squirrels too.
