  1. I agree with you that everyday for two weeks does sound a lot to treat the dog with but if that’s the recommended dose of panacur to treat lungworm then so be it, lungworm is more serious than intestinal worms and tbh whatever your opinion, my opinion or anybody’s opinion is means f**k all, I’ve learned a bit about milbamax today and I thank you for that.
  2. I tried on my missus, just made her snarl more, lol
  3. Be good to see what he would look like when fully stripped out
  4. Dog wouldn’t look outta place in the 80’s
  5. Where did you get the collar from pal ?
  6. Some brands of flea collars have killed dogs, can be harmful to humans as well
  7. As and when mate, last time I used it was September last year when I saw her have a nibble, I’ve not seen a flea on her since I first got her (2014) her skins not the best and I think it was just irritating her, anyway a quick spray and she was fine, she gets a bath about every nine months when she’s finished her heat cycle, best shampoo I’ve found is Beaphar insecticidal dog shampoo, it kills any unwanted nasties on contact and removes any smell of blood from her being on heat, I just leave it on for ten minutes when it’s lathered up before rinsing it off then her coat just shines.
  8. Went to vets a few years back for some advocate wanted to charge me £78. for 6 tubes, told em I could get 12 tubes from Animed Direct for £52. just needed a prescription from vets, they charged me £16. for prescription n I was ok with that, went back to vets next year and they told me they can only give 6 months prescription for same £16. and they had to see dog before they could give prescription which was £35. if nothing wrong with dog, and had to see dog every 6 months, so they wanted £70 per year to see dog and do f**k all and then screw me for £32. for 2 prescriptions, I told them they ju
  9. Timing is the crucial factor, as it is in a lot of situations, you’ll need to get your eye in and stay focused on the dog, gradually walk him closer to the Sheep each time you pass them, keep him on a loose leash and as you pass them if he turns his head in the slightest direction towards the Sheep correct him by pulling the lead sharply to the side which will hopefully unbalance him temporarily while issuing your command “NO”, that’s the timing I mentioned, it will take more effort with an older dog but you will reap the rewards for the effort you put in now, I once broke a mates dog to sheep
  10. I can remember a lot of greyhounds were similar years back with fur missing off their tails and especially the back legs and a older guy who managed them said it was down to kennel stress, not many people notice the bald patch on my gal’s tail probably helps with her being brindle, a lot of folks struggle to see past the colour lol
  11. It’s like you’ve described my bitch lol
  12. No she’s a house dog mate, she sleeps on the settee (spoilt) I’ve never seen her sit on her tail but I’ve seen other dog do it, the bald patch has never got any bigger thankfully.
  13. That’s true, I’ve seen some mates dogs been treated with camrosa in the past and it’s worked lovely on them
  14. My lurcher had a small bald patch half way down her tail so I bought a jar of camrosa hoping this would replenish the fur, I spoke to the guys that make it to get their advice and they told me I have to follow the instructions to get the best results, ok so I did, I shampooed the tail everyday for three weeks with their shampoo and applied the ointment afterwards, three weeks went by and it made no difference whatsoever the bald patch is still there probably a couple of mm smaller, my lurcher is a really calm, sensible animal, no mad tail wagging ever, so I’m not sure how her tail got the bald
  15. That’s class, great start for you and the pup, enjoy your life’s journey together, all the best.
  16. First thing I want to achieve with a pup is a bond, man and dog benefit from having a bond in my opinion, the dog needs to know I’m the Alpha and it needs to work for me not itself, if the dog gives it all for you it’s impossible not to have an attachment, this sport of ours is a dangerous game, accidents, injuries and occasionally fatalities occur, thankfully not too often, every time a running dog runs it’s life can be in peril, that’s the nature of the game and we wouldn’t have it any other way and after all a life half lived is no life at all.
  17. Good advise all round, enjoy your time making good memories with your dog/s, atb
  18. Time flies for sure, bet they’ve left you with some good memories.
