  6. Hi as title says looking to swap my 1998 toyota hiace lwb 2.4 d in white. 134k 2 previous owners since new generally tidy but the odd knock and bump here and there nothing serious, starts on the button bought to go self employed at end of last year but change of circumstances means different. looking for 4x4 - anything considered as long as its reliable and not falling to pieces the van would easily fetch the £1400 mark on trader etc but thought id try a swap first - any trial welcome if you have the 4x4 or possibly a cash offer pics up later when on other computer atb
  7. i wouldnt think its paranoya as you can hear the difference, how much would it be to have it chronoed? local gunshop should be able to do it - free or a few quid - worth saving for a combro or similar for home use though - still dont rule out 'in the head' - lets face it if it had a'slowy' it would lose all of its working pressure over time and youd get a gradual but consistent deterioration in power. hope this helps atb chris btw you mention about leaving springers cocked in your first post - even springers should be able to be left cocked for days wih no real detrementa
  8. it ccould be everso slight wear on the ram seal without a chrono result hard to say - but - they are surprisingly basic if youve ever seen one - on the power subject the seals on non fac rams will knacker very quickly if pushed over their intended use. as for the ram iirc they are set to approx 50bar for 12ftlb in .22 atb chris
  9. from past experience they are mostly cosmetic or a useful cocking aid on a short barreled rifle - you aint gonna silence the mechanics with it and there is little if any 'pop' from a spring/ram rifle - used to have a 90k - great little gun would have one again tomorrow if i had the cash spare atb chris
  10. woodworkers sash clamp/cramp
  11. not bad price for above ground use - goes to show tho' how ridiculously expensive the deben units are got a mk1 box here for repair off a mate ages ago - be surprised if theres £20 of kit in the box even at maplin prices!! anyone got access to component identifying kit? - iknow there are devices you can plug ic's in to get an id of it - it wont be anything special thats why they rub the numbers off!! atb chris
  12. Accupels lol suprised they were shiny in the first place all that gunk on them. Left a tub out before myself spread em out on a baking tray and put em in a low oven to dry. As long as the lead hasnt furred up too much i guess they will be just fine
  13. stain and oil every time for me - at least oil can be 'topped up' if scratched etc atb chris
  14. silencers do little really on springers as most of the noise is mechanical rather than the pop of the air as in a pcp or co2 rifle - i have a supersport too in .22 thats been shortened (has a silencer on but its more of a cocking aid and for aesthetics) with an ambi walnut stock -yes its loud - probably more so now its shorter as i suspect the spring will have been packed up to compensate for the barrel loss as with most rifles - polishing / tuning the internals is the way to go - maybe a change of material in some places and certainly close attention tothe right kind of lubricants and
  15. this may be the exception to the the rule but i pm'd a chap of the database on here a few weeks ago after getting a jill already well in season - she was little 'thin' to be considered for kits this year and the man was only too happy to help!! - i called at his and he offered me his hob (complete with nice bow back carrier) - no questions asked for the week - needless to say the job was well and truly done in that time. It goes without saying that the lad was treated like a king for his stay and returned in top form. I didnt get to say thanks to the man in person when returning the fert' but
  16. its surprising what freezing can do to meat - ive had chicken breast that tasted / felt sooo much better after freezing than cooking fresh - think of it as a way of tenderising - as it freezes the moisture (water) content expands breaking down the protein meat fibres -works great with some fish too hope this helps chris
