  1. looked into the cornish language a little as we hope to emigrate from lancashire sometime - i appreiate dialect and traditional languages (with wales particularly anglesey a close second for moving to) - from what ive seen on the internet though there is a lot of 'in fighting' over what is 'true' cornish as the bible bashers of olde made it basically illegal to even speak it(and a lot of its history lost) - so now there are 2 or 3 versions accepted but only one officially recognised - i got 'reet' put off by the long arguuments (in english and whatever version of cornish) on one particular s
  2. aye me too from another north t'border lad
  3. i was only saying to the mrs the other day ive met about half adozen people off here for various reasons from buying and selling to borrowing a snipped hob and i can honestly say every one has been a top chap with most deals leading to nights and days out or other stuff like free gear (all very welcome too!)- ive done these forums for 10 years plus with my hobbies and not one has had the same level of good uns' - maybe ive got lucky this time???? - hoping i can repay the goodwill sometime. atb chris ps - any nets going cheap?? lol!!
  4. Hmm - for starters the have ifs torsion bars up front and coils at the rear so that aint gonna happen. i always thought landys had heavier duty springs up front for the engine weight - hence why they go nose up if you stick an ally engine v8 in????oem rear variable damper shocks are sheeite though so bin em for es9000s or similar!!! on the mileage front - 40 not really butclose possibly - my 4trak does 30 easily with a steady right foot on 31x10.5 versions of the same tire. used to have a 2.4 auto surf it gave 25-28 mpg until i put fookin 33"s on then it really went tits up at about 18

  10. maybe not a section for beginners to post on per se - but perhaps a beginners section full of useful sticky posts - ones that have been moved over from the regular section when seen as good info - lock em too maybe! plus having it as its own area means no miles of scrolling down screen to get to the daily posts (somesites i use are sticky mad - just gets in't way!! at least then people can be referred to this section if they ask something thats already been done to death some things are bound to come up more than once 'whats the fill pressure for xxx' etc - probalby not a sticky in
  11. walking distance :weight_lift2:
  12. is it just me or does the smell of ferts kinda grow on you anyway? (it certainly has on one jacket i have - too much contact with an in season jill and mr studley hob!!) - the mrs aint keen, granted, but the first time she smelt the ferts was when t'jill was well overdue for a seeing to, then i brought the snipped boy in for her service - did i mention i got him in her car... as already said - if you are shapooing for smell reduction it will only be short term and be back worse - glad i read this up before i considered doing mine to make the mrs think they dont smell.. atb chris
  13. lets not panic here- 99.999999% sure it will be a 110v plug and bulb - as said -swap the plug for a normal mains plug an the bulb for a 240v one - probably a halogen one like outside security lights on your house that go on and off all night for no feckin' reason except to keep you getting up out of bed to see whos prowling - sorry got on a bit of a tangent there!!!! done exactly the same myself -- keeps the fert shed nice and warm at night too!! atb chris **ONLY ATTEMPT IF CONFIDENT WITH ELECTRICKERY AND YOU ARENT COLOUR BLIND - NO RESPONSIBILITY ACCEPTED FOR AND MISHAPS,FIRES
  14. 'selling for a mate' is a nice easy way of trying to avoid the shyte when the dog turns out to be yet another waste of time whatever it is for sale 99% of the time 'selling for a mate' smells funny if you ask me as for the dogs being sold because of the recession - maybe, but to make money not because they cant afford em' wish i had the space for a lurcher personally - and a mrs who wouldnt mind!!(its a lot easier sneaking extra guns and ferrets in lol!!) atb Chris
  15. Didn't think they liked talking about shooting any quarry over there.. only if it means being able to 'tut tut' someone - used to be a regular visitor not as much these days and it does make my toes curl sometimes. ive had entire threads deleted at the very mention of the name Darcy - ah-happy days atb at all times chris

  17. even less now!!!!! not entirely sure if meeces are legit air rifle quarry either - daft as it seems think similar was discussed on airgun bbs recently one less rodent nontheless !! atb chris
  18. slagging cross breeds - the very nature of a 'lurcher' is to be a cross breed - better to be cross bred than a fully 'in bred show ped' with all their faults - i say a price is fair if a dog does what it says on the tin... atb chris
  19. howdy & welcome to THL - nowt wrong with a 'wet kent' every once in a while either atb Chris
  20. yeah - but are you poaching with .22 or .177??? back on topic - wish i had time to shoot right now - lucky if i get 10 mins for a good shi.... well - you know how it is !!! never knew having kids would be this hectic atb Chris
  21. as its cheap as chips i use asda own baby sterilising fluid - basically bleach without all the extra nasties added for extra selling power!! - dont use dettol type ones i know they can cause nervous system damage to cats so prob not good for the ferts!! btw you can use steri fluid 1tsp to 1 litre of water to make it drink safe apparently - NEVER TRIED IT LIKE!!!!! atb chris
  22. there are off the shelf quick fill male and femal adaptors available at your local gunshop - not overly pretty but do the job - as for a bespoke conversion to a falcon one then contact air arms it may be possible atb chris
