  1. Dear Shaun The season is over for me now. PM me your location, to see if you live anywhere near me for the next season. All the best Bandit
  2. Dear Clarets May I offer you a word of advice, think very long and hard before you make up your mind. Draw up a list of the Pro's and Con's, write them down if you have to. Some con's: 1. Weight gain could be a problem, so you will have to watch what she eats. 2. Some rough coated bitches may become whoolly in appearance, some smooth coated may look patchy. Both of these can make a bitch unsightly, that is if it matters to you. 3. She may become incontinent. 4. What if she turns out to be a world beater. Some Pro's: 1. You will never have to watch out for her season i.e. bei
  3. Dear shaun For one Vasectomised Hob to service six Jills should not be a problem, space out the pairings so as not to overexert the lucky fellow. Imagine yourself going at it day after day, you would soon lose condition. Yes I know that last statement will bring some crude replies. You might want to up his feeding very slightly as well. All the best Bandit
  4. Dear Top Chalker Can you tell me on what medical evidence do you base your statement above. Regards Bandit
  5. Dear Holey It doesn't really matter what you feed your Ferrets, as long as it is a balanced diet. For example: a.Too much Liver could lead to Hypervitaminosis in extreme cases. b.It has not yet been scientifically proven yet, but feeding only dried complete foods could lead to urinary calculi. c.Too many eggs can lead to a Biotin deficiency Those are just a few examples, the list is endless. The diet you choose must supply a number of essential nutrients to your Ferret for a healthy life - protein, fat, minerals, vitamins and not forgeting a good clean supply of water eve
  6. Dear Shaun Sorry for not putting this in my first reply, heavy cold fuddling my brain. It is customary and a recognised practice to take the Jill to the Hob, be warned though, when amoretto looses his bow a violent and noisey affair will ensue. Not to put it too bluntly it would appear to us that the Hob is raping the Jill. He will seize his intended mate by the scruff and forcefully drag her into his quarters and carryout the act of union with much con brio. Don't be alarmed, this all very natural. After the union, which could last up to an hour, remove the Jill from the Hob but r
  7. Dear Shaun The cost of a Vasectomy varies from surgery to surgery, you should be looking to pay within the region of between £50 to £70. Don't forget all procedures which involve anaesthetics carry a risk, so there is a possibility of losing your Hob. Bandit

Well I suppose I had better crawl from under my stone and make a statement: To all of you bouys north of the border, this is a miner set back in our quest for world domination on the Rugby pitch, I raise my glass and salute you all on a valliant effort.
  9. My Dear Pennymeadow Whippets May I open this post by asking you to not post half truths and misinform Holey and any other readers. The PITUITARY gland is located at the base of the brain. The gland is divided into two parts a. The anterior: which produces four hormones 1. Thyrotropic hormone = Controls the action of the Thyroid. 2. Cortiotropic hormone = Controls the action of the Adrenal cortex. 3. Growth hormone = Controls the animals growth particularly in puberty. 4. Anti-diuretic hormone = Acts on the kidney to prevent excessive excretion of water. b
  10. Engelburt Humperdinck- The Last Waltz Carreg, Arthur Brown top bloke, I saw him perform a couple of years back supporting Robert Plant at the Birmingham Academy. The blokes voice blew me away.
  11. I'd blame John Prescott, :realmad: not enough is done to develop brown field sites. Year on year more of our countryside is being eaten away and lost forever. Shame on you Prescott. My condolences to you Bigeddie.
  12. Dear Holey, Could you clarify a few points for us: a. Has the Jill reached full Oestrus, i.e. has her vaginal opening swollen up to three or four times it's usual size. b. Is there a Hob with the Jill, i.e.in the same Hutch/Court. I'm asking these questions, and if they come back on the positive I will have a few more,so as to shed a little light as to your situation and to clarify the Jills position. To answer your initial question, my Jills have not yet come into season Bandit
  13. Chimp, these are the two immediate ones I use after a bad rat bite 1.TCP 2. Hot salty water, keep putting salt into the water until no more dissolves, have it as hot as your fingers can take, then apply with a clean cotton ball using copius amounts Obviously, keep an eye on it for a day or two if it flares up give it a shot.
  14. Thank you for your most courteous retort Doddsy. However, and there always is one, I think my comments to Ginge were firm but fair. The hobby he has undertaken is not for the faint hearted, and I should think he is big enough and ugly enough to take such advice/comments on the chin. If he was offended by my comments then why hasn't he replied? As for yourself, buying from what you describe as a "breeder in the loosest context", shame on you. You are only encouraging these types of "breeders" to keep making money therefore encouraging them to propagate more stock ad infinitum. Well rant

What's that smell coming from over the border, ah yes I hear you cry, it's all those "Porridge Wogs" :mamba: kaching it over this Saturday. We'll do the "Sweaties" about the same as we did the Taffs by about 34 points the difference.
  16. Great bit of kit, but i got a bit hot when I was Ferreting so i hung it on a tree and never saw it again.
  17. The facts are my dear Doddsy. Point 1. If he bought the Ferret in this state he doesn't know what he is looking at or for, and should not be keeping these animals in the first place. Aren't we always told from the experienced boys of old never buy from sellers who keep there stock in poor conditions as you may be getting more than you bargained for. Point 2. If it was a good clean Jill when he bought her it didn't take long for her to get in this state which leads me to think his husbandry is poor. When I clean my Ferrets out, which as I have already stated is daily, they are checke
  18. Ginge, if you cleaned them out "EVERYDAY", this also gives you the opportunity to keep them well handled, you wouldn't be asking silly questions. Use a bit of latteral thinking, if you had dried hard kach on your foot what would you do to get it off, and how often do you cut your toenails. By the way how often do you clean them out and what materials do you use in the Hutch/Court? I'm sorry if this sounds like a rant but Ferret neglect really grips my shit , if you pardon the pun.
  19. Ginge, with respect, from the gist of it it sounds like you don't knock around with enough experienced blokes in the Ferreting fraternity. If this is the case, can I give you a bit of advice, do a bit of reading up on the subject. Reading will not give you all the answers, but if you apply a bit of lateral thinking to what you have digested of an evening in front of the fire, then you will be a bit further down the road to being a more accomplished breeder and worker of "Pugs". May I suggest a few authors for you to peruse: a. Fred.J.Taylor b. J.Drakeford c. J.McKay d. D.Bezzant e. D.B
  20. Great thread boys haven't laughed that loud for a long time
  21. Ok boys Becks spilt the beans, my whippet cross bitch only had about "30"possibly a few more. I'm still waiting on the photo's from a good mate of mine and Becks to put up on the site. as soon as i get them there up ok.
  22. That sort of post could bring a tear to a glass eye :11: :11: :11:I hope everything works out for you Snatch :friends:
  23. The hardest quarry I've ever hunted, before I broke my time machine, is the T-Rex. I used to track them with my Nan's Yorkie 'Trixie', when she had one cornered and before she'd rush in for the kill I'd smoke it with my .177. Ah those halcyon days, much missed! :11: :11: :11:
