  1. Unfortunately I don't know the owner Jonjon, it's someone my mate knows got Intouch with him a coupe of weeks back, tomorrow we have a free day so give it a whirl hopefully kill two birds with one stone so to speak....
  2. Garratt AT PRO, mate uses a minelab...
  3. Well going metal Detecting tomorrow with a mate roughly 50acres, some farmland up in Cheshire so hoping to see a few rabbits, woodies etc etc about and ask permission to do some pest control,.so fingers crossed ?...
  4. Maybe it was after the other ear pierced!!! ?
  5. Phill... I got Intouch with tracer/ledray, and I got em email back K from Alex I think it was saying all their pills/torch are 850nm......but thanks for the help.... ?
  6. I was thinking more for spotting giving me the chance to spot them then get closer for the shot, I hav,nt tried the viper on the hw yet at it has a leak,( waiting for o-rings to arrive should be today), see how it feels and what it's like to carry about in the field.
  7. I agree mate, there not cheap even more so the wolf and the Eagle..... I was thinking of getting the optic-fire xc 50 with the 940nm pill, its states 300yd which I would,nt need for sub 12 but then the 940 would knock some range off that to start with so I'm guessing it will get me out to 200yd for spotting..... Just dont know where I'm gonna stick it... The hw100 weighs enough as it is without the viper on top plus an Xtra IR, I use shooting sticks, I was thinking if there was a way I could attach the torch to the swivel head of the sticks with a rattail to turn on and off, then as the gun r
  8. Thinking maybe an aftermarket IR torch.. Optic-fire do the 940nm so might go for o e of them, but as you said for upto 40yds it's great for the airrifle...
  9. Phill... As far as rabbits go I can make them out to 60-70yds with IR on full, anything past that it's eyeshine only and there are a few pheasants around so even tho I would,nt take a shot at that distancewith sub 12ft/lb I can't make out the target past that distance.... But I'm assuming an added 940IR torch will give me better vision and range... Then again I was only using a cheap 3-9x50 hawke scope so once I'm using my mtc viper connect when I fix my leaky hw100 better optics might give me better vision aswell but Im not sure it would... Time will tell...
  10. I just got the viper, good bit of kit... Went for the dark-ops struggle past 60-70yds to see a rabbit clearly tho, eyeshine is OK past that but sometimes cant make out what it is so can't shoot it until I get closer...
  11. It's a fatty, he died content ?
  12. Good luck with the new perm mate, hope it's rewarding....
  13. Cheers, will try that before taking cylinder off... ?
  14. Filled the hw100 up a couple of days ago and it's empty, gutted, filled it again it's leaking air slowly but can't find d where from I cannot hear nothing leaking anywhere, the cylinder seems tight and not loose,. Would it be worth changing the air cylinder seal before panicking and taking it to a shop?
  15. Got out just before dark for a couple of hours, try out the new nitesite viper rtek, got the crow just before dark 25yds sitting on a fence post with the bsa r10 .25cal then the two bunnies in the dark both look mixyfied to me 25 & 30yds, came home coz mi belly was rumbling and I've got an archery comp tmoz...
  16. Ive seen them on the optic-fire website, buy the torch and add the pill of your choice, red, green, white, 850 or 940... Not really looked anywhere else as of yet...
  17. Thankyou golfing , Im only keeping the rabbit population down with a sub 12ft/lb airrifle but when trying laming with either white or red lens rabbits were off as soon as they seen the beam, that's why I went for the 940nm instead of the 850,i dont really need to see 300yds but 150yds would be good but I didn't want to pay an Xtra £200 for the RTEK wolf, hence the viper and maybe an added ir torch...
  18. TBH Phill I would go for the 940nm IR torch because of the lower red light output, thats the reason why I went down that road in the first place... They seem to be lamp shy rabbits.... ?
  19. Hi guys, I have just purchased the nitesite rtek viper dark ops (940nm), I am thinking of purchasing an aftermarket IR to give me some Xtra visible range, would I have to buy the 940nm Ir torch...
  20. If I go for a t20 ir torch or similar it will have to be the 940nm and not the 850 am I right in thinking that?
  21. Will keep you posted mate....
  22. I had a hat on and a scrim over my nose because the wife said my face lit up when I turned it on, because I've tried lamping with a red torch which scared the rabbits off I went for the dark ops viper and there is very little glow tbh, but a strong torch will no doubt give off more glow....
  23. Took it out last night for a trial run, bit strange looking through a screen, I had the screen brightness on low and altering the IR brightness as I looked around, I didnt want to buy the wolf an Xtra £200 when I can use a t20 for Xtra distance for a quarter the price, still found it hard getting within range of the little blighters tho, but I did found out last night that there are another two or three lads that go on there aswell, guessing that's why their a bugger to get close too.... But enjoyed it tho but as you,s mentioned maybe a optional IR torch....
