Good shooting Nathan. I’ve had a box of the 42’s when they became available. I found them slightly more accurate than the 40’s but not much in it. I haven’t had any since though. Have you tried stingers in your Brno Nathan? You never know, they might actually be accurate???  They do hit hard if you can get them to connect ? as you probably know. It’s just getting them to connect, but if your brno likes them.........

The velocitors now you remind me weren't to fantastic!

It would be worth a try of the old stingers when I bump into them. ?

  2. Acquired some of the above today and went rabbiting tonight.

Man I couldn't shoot tonight, a blustery wind, cold too and my brain and trigger finger had lost all connections!

I missed several, fluked a couple then pulled myself together! The Winnie subs shot to zero at 50yds with a good group shot off hand and  proceeded (eventually) fill the bag for an order of six.

Beautiful rabbits in thick lush winter coats.

I have to say, so far this Brno shoots anything it stuffs in its chamber!

Jess behaved and was rewarded when the bag was full with a run at a squatter.

She didn't catch it but had a good 100yd run.

Hand gun crime actually climbed after the ban for I believe around 10 years. It did then fall back a bit but more due to more effective policing than any ban from the preceding figures. Not sure what the statistics are now, but London especially and it's gangs appear to be flush with handguns, machine pistols and other banned weapons.

It is a well known story that a substantial amount of handed in handguns went missing during the hand in, BY THE POLICE!!

This school is double fenced...unreal …... it IS like a prison camp!    The result is the gap gets overgrown and the fox love it!  I much prefer to survey first but Google Earth does help, especially when its nearly 70 miles each way.  I got seriously screwed on the way back last night as the Tate Street underpass was closed on the A 406 so the congestion was epic, even at 02.00 as was I coming home.

And there are many here that envy those of us who do this for a living! :thumbs:

No doubt about it deker, it's hard work and frustrating too sometimes!

  5. It was grand to be out this afternoon. The skies cleared and a brisk fresh wind set in. Man the squirrels are big around these parts this year!

    IMG-20181207-134818901.jpg

Took a nice pheasant home too.

Shame there was no spark when the partridge lifted from my feet! That would of been a first!

Only saw one woodcock. Doesn't seem to be many about this season so far.

Oh and I fell in the dark this morning! It's bloody hurting now I can tell you!

Because the Goverment said no, im afraid .As a reaction to Dunblane they banned legal ownership to calm the populous ,but it doesnt stop the crimms and scum taking each other out with their illegal and Unlicensed weapons .

There in lies the problem no politician would raise his head over the parapet and say let,s allow legal handgun ownership again, because the mothers of the victims of gun crime would hang them by the dangleberries .But the guns being used are already banned ,that,s the problem due to their loss of loved 1,s they want all guns banned so i,m afraid handgun ownership here is consigned to history.

It is a shame ,i miss my 9mm Browning H.P ,but the Goverment kindly sold all our handguns on to African police forces and we aren,t getting them back

Dunblane files has a 100 year ban on their release which in a civil matter is illegal.

I remember when it happened and early indications I remember implied the police tried to shoot Hamilton through the glass of the main hall, I remember before they hushed the reporting of it the windows being peppered with holes.

I often wondered how many of them kids had police bullet wounds!

Hamilton should not of had a license, he was turned down a few times, threatened a wpc too. Over 60 memos were sent the chief constable to revoke his license.

Hamilton got his license by being a friend of a friend in the same masonic lodge as the chief constable!

Dunblane was the police licensing departments fault from the beginning.

Shotguns in the UK have killed more so why have they not been banned?

Stupid country run by stupid  spineless people that in their stupidly like to jump up and down on the heads of ordinary people in frenzied witch hunts!

I wish to hunt with a handgun thank you very much as I can still drive a car, a car, of which has robbed many a mother of her baby.... more so than any handgun ever owned legally in Britain!

With woodpigeon I've only heard it said about birds on the roost, in which case the head is probably tucked in above. It may be guff, or maybe not. However, most things have some origin in fact, and woodpigeon are a very tough bird to start with. It's not inconceivable that on the roost, they could pack the feathers tight enough. In flight though is another matter. I've never failed to drop one in flight except when I've missed. As an aside, one other piece of Guff you often here is how they can see the shot in flight at 1,500fps! Guff it is until you actually see it. I've seen several woodpigeon swerve to avoid my shot before.

? they swerved because they saw you mate ?

Unless the extra thickness was mostly on the inside except at the neck. Possible if the case isn't full of powder to the neck. Ultimately, I wouldn't know. All I do know is a lot of shooters are reporting they aren't seeing any bad rounds anymore. Obviously this points to either the case or forming process having changed.

Interestingly, at the same time, several new hotter hmr rounds are being announced. Again pointing to the issue being solved - I gather this was featured at Shot Show 2018:

    Interesting stuff.

Sales must be dropping, or people want to start using them on rats!

iv got to have a go of a 99 and see what all the fuss is about mate lol

give Jess a pat from me

    atvbjimmy:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Jess just got that pat mate.

The 99 is a perfect balance of size weight and power. I carry mine without a sling!

It has a fast action and relatively not pellet fussy.

Mine even shoots from a rest perfectly!

  11. A little bit of roost shooting the woodies this afternoon.

It never ceases to marvel me watching flocks of woodies coming into roost.

This 99 also never ceases to amaze me.

It puts jsb 16 GRN pellets on top of each other. And the knock the snot out of woodies.

Happy dog, bag full of pigeon, good air rifle equals happy man.

I thought they were fairy good, certainly hit hard and more accurate than stingers for me. HV.22’s, I always preferred the eleys, I tried some federal classic and they were very good, but I couldn’t get any more since. Also find Fiocchi hv good as well. The rws I’ve been using recently have been very good though.

What are the fiocchi like mate?

The subbie are useable in my rifle.

What kind of speed are their HV?
