  1. Takes little time.

Smoky streaky chopped add to hot wok.

    Add small cut rabbit pieces.

    Add a chopped onion.

    Lots of black pepper.

After browning the meat add wine to take the heat away.

    Add chopped peppers.

Make a rue and add to mix.

    Adjust thickness with milk.

Add frozen veg and on low heat heat through.

    Easy peasy real tasty :-)

  2. Absolutely mate. I'd only go for the ribs with a CF rifle. I personally use a .22-250 and always go for a frontal chest shots even with full metal jacket ammo. I've never had a runner, nor have ever witnessed a fox run after a .22lr to the head, but imagine id get a lot with a .22lr chest shot.

Try it if you get chance, if asked to guess on my experience (no not an expert) about 90% go straight down.

The longest run was over 100yds but most of the runners were 30ish yards.

They are dead just don't know it :-).

  3. If you can hit a rabbit in the head your going to hit a fox. Why risk a fox chest shot with a .22lr and letting it run away wounded. Sure it will die but it will die slowly. A 40g sub to the head of a fox at 60 yards will drop it on the spot.

That is fine mate, just my opinion but please bear in mind, I have seen lots of rabbit shot in the head and some don't go down! Even with all the power of a 22!

I have and will shot a fox in the noggin but will always go for the ribs given a choice.

No difference as shooting a deer thus and stalkers of deer expect the deer to run, however they are rarely lost.

  4. Ta gents, bit of a funny story really!

Having always been put off co2 after owning a 2240 I found myself buying an SMK cp1 pistol.

I could not believe how good it was!

OK, the trigger needed a fiddle but was soon sorted.

My dog treed a squirrel and the pistol at close range soon had it sorted.

This got me reading up on them xs78 jobbies and found one and once more all the misconception about co2 was thrown out!

With a little work it's up to the limit and feeding us!

That then led me to the blow up dolly!

I really must stop buying guns now!

  5. Just thought I would pop by to show my new rifle, it's a cheap and cheerful Pr900 imported by SMK.

Only got it Sunday am and by late afternoon got my first meal with it!

Before I got that rabbit I did the trigger as it was very long in action.

    A lovely light rifle.

    Two pigeon from last night.

  6. Hi, I have been on Pigeon watch for years but have moved here as not to many enjoy hunting.

I shoot mostly but that can involve, catties, air pistol, air rifles, rim fires (centerfire days are over for me), shotguns and leaving the best until last, muzzleloaders!

I also enjoy taking the occasional photo of wildlife.

Am I allowed to post hunting photos and if so, where? (Just to be sure).

    Thank you for the invite.
