    The charity has 2 shops and four vans on the road, just off the top off my head since she started she has gone through 8 drivers, and a similar number of van assistants. What she's wanting in my opinion, is volunteers who they pay £7 a day !!! Yes you read it right, come in and volunteer, humping wardrobes and whatever else up 2 or 3 flights of stairs for 7 hours a day and at the end of the day they,ll hand you £7.

    They told me at yesterdays meeting that they were going to get agency drivers, the company needs drivers....we go and collect donations from the public that are then sold on in the shop...no donations then there is nothing to sell and the money dries up...supposedly !!

    Mrs going mad BGD, she is stressed to the max, and unnderstanably so, I,ve got to try to be upbeat for her , if the worst comes to the worst I fully understand I,m not the first and won't be the last, hey there are worse of families all over Britain and Ireland. I won't take it lying down , I could,nt it let it lie at that though, not for my own piece of mind.

    Update on my. Own personal situation : about 3:45 this afternoon taken up stairs with my line manager to see the CEO and told that I along with two other drivers and our assistants were being suspended on full pay until a hearing in 3 days. Once the hearing is over I will be able to say what it's all about and believe me lads it is laughable, although the fact that the company is now going to employ 3 drivers and assistants from agencies is,nt. Written warnings to us all have been scrapped as the correct procedure was,nt followed yesterday....what chance do you have when they can do this at th

    My daughter is a employment law paralegal so she deals with things like this day in day out. Your details are too vague for any advice to be given. Don't take advice from THL advisor's because it is usually nonsense. Get some proper advice and describe everything truthfully.     Thanks for your replies fellas, I will ask to see the company handbook tomorrow, the manager has been in place for approx 8 years so should know what he is doing, I was given no notice and no time to compose a defence.We have a newish CEO who I,m has gone through the other parts of the company in a similar way , sacking anybody who either speaks up for themselves or rubs her up the wrong way. One more thing it is a social enterprise we work for...I have been told that it is very hard to bring a claim successfully against a charity, does anyone have any idea if this is true Cheers again lad

    I need some advice if possible, been dragged in by my line manager this afternoon and given a written warning for apparently standing around last Friday just before we knocked off. Been with the company 3 1/2 years and have never had one bit of trouble with them before this, great attendance record , no previous warnings for anything, so this has come out of the blue.     Long Good Friday ?....or not.What about Razors ? It's been that long since I watched it I can't remember what became of him ....was he taken away then the boys hijacked his car ?     Long Good Friday ?....or not.When Bob Hoskins says....there,s a lot of respect in that, going out like a rasberry ripple, as his mates body is getting taken away in an ice cream van. Brilliant, I remember as a youngster watching the first ten or fifteen minutes and thinking what's all this about but it is definetly right up there as one of the best British gangster films.
