  1. Why we laugh at other peoples pain is beyond me KD, now Neil tell us one of yours so i can have a laugh at your expense haha.
  2. A case of Once bitten...Twice shy, no more a truer saying haha!!!
  3. By the looks of it Liam he aint got much to bite you with {but it would be funny seeing it] Some people get very jumpy at the business end of a dig.
  4. I put a photo up on this section a while back of three black dogs i bred, a big strong bitch on the left, a strong bully bitch in the middle and a handy dog on the right. The only one that worked to a high standard was the bully bitch in the middle the other two never made the grade, the bitch above that killed foxes easily was the strong bitch on the left in the photo, I only kept the bully bitch, all were from 100% dogs so you never know whats going to work!!! 2 years planning down the drain.
  5. Nice pair Glyn it just shows that they may look the part, they dont always make the grade.
  6. Nice solid looking dog in the foreground, looks like a young dog on the pic, I hope hes going well for you.
  7. Mary he was young, reckless and headstrong and his health came before his work and the forth dig was not an option.
  8. Dead eyes I am a bit late with my response to your question but it has been answered for me.
  9. Keeping myself to myself 90 per cent of the time when i dig, i do like the odd dig with other terriermen, i have dug with some well known terriermen over the years and some not so well known, on both sides of the pond. We can all have a good dog that we can dig too but its more than that, i try and watch how other dogmen go about there ways and sometimes learn a little from them, and sometimes think WTF, but with experience comes knowledge {for most anyway}. A bigger name does not mean better dogs!!! I eat sleep and breath terriers for as long as i can remember and i am never to old to learn.
  10. I was having a similar conversation about certain dogs with a few friends at the westmeath show and i said top class terriermen are far rarer than top class terriers and we seemed to agree that they are a dying breed.
  11. A walk up the hills today behind the house, then a handy dig to my young dog. When I die and go to hell I hope it looks like this!!!
  12. Ive had a couple of border/lakelands in the past, one from a terrierman in south wales called Dai Ball he had a few of them [maybe some welsh lads know more on them] he worked well to a point, had another that was too hard 3 digs then retired. Very few are seriously worked nowadays, though i could be wrong!!!
  13. Be patient theres no rush, theres a few genuine terriermen on here who know there stuff, they might help. You might have to wait though, and your best waiting for good stuff its very hard to come by...
