  12. i know what your saying SS, when there in the area its nice to see them ,i dont like shooting them were there feeding but the farmer wanted it done, so it had to be done, whats the point in slaughtering them when theres no need to , we picked our shots and was very sensible about it, we set ourselfs a limit and stuck to it , i just hope there is still some around when you and sounder are over .
  13. went out yesterday morning with a mate on one of his fields he shoots, it was a lifted sugarbeet field and the farmer drilled it with wheat and they was still on it, so my mate was asked to shoot them off it before they did to much damage to the wheat . we had a great flight we shot 10 between us then packed up because it was to easy and there was not much sport in it , they were coming in like pigeons, so we shot what we wanted and then just kept spooking the rest off the field .
  14. two very nice pups there POACHER what lines are thet mate ?
  15. hi, i use archie jordens pink, greylag, canada calls, also he does some good mallard calls single and double reeds but i use primos single reed mallard call very loud out on the forshore .
  16. well i have been chasing geese since sunday and had 4 pinks sofar this week, i went down this morning was expecting the same amount as the last few days but too my shock there was more , i was talking to anothere fowler and we both reckon there is about 15 thousand + now so roll on the moon .
  17. there has been more pinks arriving all day, i have been talking to a mate he reckons there has been about 10,000 come fresh in today .
  18. well i went out for a night flight for the geese tonight, i managed to scrape one out and got some footage on my phone its not that good because when the geese were getting close to us, i kept putting my phone down but you can see them and most definately hear them there was around 10 to 12 thousand pinks some greys and white fronts click on the film
  19. welcome to the mad mans club, it only gets wetter colder and muddy from now on
  20. the amount of rain we have had in the last two days here mate you will have to walk through the water on the plough mate. anyway it will do you some good walking the plough with you eating all those marsbars and snickers you could do with loosing a few pounds.
  21. well i had a call off a mate last night asking if i fancied a trip round the other side of the wash to us, so i said yes and we arranged a time for him to pick me up 4.15 well 4.15 came and he arrived on time .so i went got my gun and kit and headed out to meet him we put my kit into the truck then i went to fetch murphy from the run we put him in the front and off we went. it was about a 10 mile drive to where we wanted to be so it was not long before we got there, when we arrived there was a car already there and 2 other fowlers getting kitted up, we had a chat to them and asked them
  22. hi deker , it sounds like a good day you got there ,i would take your O/U because it sounds like its a driving days duck shooting and they will be driving them off ponds to the guns , if its around and in woodland ,i would check with who ever gave you the invite and make sure that you are allowed to use steel shot the reason i say is . if you are shooting around and in woodlands that belong to the forrestry comission they do not alow you to use steel shot in some areas because it can penatrate the trees, then when they come to fell the trees the steel shot buggers the chains in the chai
  23. i like you SS am a member of basc through multi wildfowling clubs, not through my own choice, our club tried to pull out of basc a few years back but couldnt because they do all the leases for the crown foreshore from the crown estates. they are the only recognised body to do so by the crown estates,so they have got all wildfowling clubs by the b*lls, but what basc are forgetting is basc was set up by wildfowlers many many years ago and was named WAGBI but wildfowlers are getting shafted by basc now, they are more for the toffs who pay thousands for a days pheasant shooting .
