  4. well, i have been reading some of the other lads threads about their day out, so i thought i would put my contribution up . i spoke to the keeper last night to see if it was still ok for us to go today... and it was. we aranged to meet at 8.30 at the same place as last tuesday . we got there for the arranged time and he was waiting, had a chat and set off to the other side of the farm where we were not allowed to go tuesday because they were shooting friday .. when we got there , i could not believe my eyes the amount of ground was unreal and the terrain, we parked up at the first woo
  5. simoman, did you mean to say you was tupping a sheep and not tipping one im on the mend now tho, i got 2 more weeks off work yet, its just my little finger keeps bleeding every time they change the dressing .. the other fingers look well you can't really tell .but i can live with it , i think .

  7. i supose we are lucky really tom, we get loads of them at times up the north shore, also at a place we call the flood water. with whats going on around the wash lately ie RSPB reserves and NATRUAL ENGLAND reserves the big infulx of migrating waterfowl that we get on the wash that normally stay for a couple or so days then move further inland to places like RUTLAND WATER ,GRATHAM WATER , WELNEY WASHES and so on are now staying on these reserves which can only make it better for the clubs around the wash . i have noticed more wildfowl this year around us than in the last 15 or more

  10. been out tonight for a flight its been a bit quiet latley but tonight was different , i managed 5 teal and 2 drake pintail ,i didnt shoot at my best because my hand is still bad and i can't grip the fore end very well but it was still a good flight ,i also had 30 + greylag go wide of me but it was not to be . anyone else been out lately ????????

    well mate i am a irish firefighter don't know much about uk lads but if you just go and visit your nearest fire station and have a chat to a few lads i am sure they will help you out cheer sounder it looks like you ran out of water on the last pic ray lol being serious tho , i have a few mates who are in the fire service, some old time and some retainers they love it they say its a great job to do , like sounder has said go to your local station if its a full time station go when you can , if its a retainer station then try to find out when there drill night

  15. i have been trying to get permission on this shooting estate for a while now and today it final happened we could only go on half of the estate because they are shooting the other half of it friday so we will be back next week to do the other half . we arranged to meet the keeper at 9am and we got there for about 8.45 and the keeper was waiting we had a quick chat then drove to the first lot of holes where we got kitted up collars on the terriers ... then walked up to the holes where a terrier was entered but nothing was home, so we let one of the pups run the earth knowing it was

  21. i just been on the phone to the lad who's polly tunnel it was he's just said that he did put aload manure in the tunnels which was chicken sh*t from a poultry farm so that could be why . yes he was a fine looking fox, he was in very good condtion and the best one i have shot in a long time .
  22. hi guys, i havn't posted in here for a while so i thought i would put this up and see if any of you lads have come across this before , well i aint been out for the last 10 nights lamping because i have got SOUNDER and SPORTING SHOOTER coming over to stay for a few days next week so i thought i would leave them a few to shoot not that we have got loads. anyway i had a call from a mate saying that he has been paid a visit every night for the last week by charlie and has been ripping holes in his polly tunnels, umm strange. i thought he said that its done that much damage that he has to
  23. well, i went ducking shooting last night and when i got home my two daughters came out to see what i got, when i pulled a few mallard out the bag they asked if they could have them for tea tonight and i said yes . well this afternoon i had the job of plucking them , i started to do so but it was hard work with just one hand because i have still got my hand in bandage from cutting myself bad last week at work so i decided to breast them out, i dont normally because its a waste of meat and i believe you dont get the full taste of the duck when its cut out the skin, so this is how i did
