NO you can NOT shoot lead in scotland check it out . yes you can as long as you are at least 300 meters away from a permerment water course e.g shooting geese over stubble fields well i thought we was on about wildfowling, not shooting geese in fields that to me is not wildfowling that is inland goose shooting nothing wrong with it just saying . but lead is banned on any wetlands and foreshore ect . for anyone unsure about were to shoot and were not to shoot lead in scotland have a look at the link below http://www.basc.org.uk/media/protecting_waterfowl.pdf

i had the pleasure of seeing golly work most of last season in my opinion when golly was in his prime i would say he was an awesome machine.and is now lacking in youth and tools of the trade but is still a very game dog.i put him to my bitch this year and am very pleased with the pups that he has produced for me,i have seen numerous pups that he has sired out of other litters and he has produced a strong stamp of dog and bitch.......... a credit to his breeding .out of curiousity could you tell me how old he is , i have heard rumours that he is 5 and other say that he is 7 ,my personal opin

most wildfowling clubs have a bag return system, which has to be filled out by each individual wildfowler at the end of every season and sent back to the bag return officer which he then fills out another return then sends it to the appropiate people for the foreshore and marshes ect , they have to have bag returns for there management plans and leases. as for each individual shooter sending bag returns in to the government or any conservation groups, i think it would open up a big can of worms, lets face facts the government has not got a good track record for keeping things wat

hi outdoor kid, just a few more things mate (1) what geese are they ? (2)are they legal to shoot ? (3) what choke is in your gun, if its over half choke you may be putting yourself at risk by using steel through a tight choke gun if its a modern gun it will say proofed for steel on it .but still check the chokes . (4)if you have not shot geese before ,i would proberly ask around your friends and family to see if they have, they might be able to give you some advice, also come along with you to show you how to go on . (5)i would not just go and shoot them , i would do some

i think what arnie was getting at was your bird taking a stoat spar and could mistake it for a ferret, thats why he asked about you using ferrets with your harris .

if you want to attract more ducks to the pond then yes feed it , i would have a walk round the pond and see were the shallow parts are, then feed that area put some just in the water , some out of the water , dont go to deep with the feed because teal will not be able to reach it also mallard, they like to up end in the water but if the feed is to deep they will not get it . wheat is good also barley, you can put potatoes in too but if you have fish in the pond then i would not bother potatoes send the water stagnant and relise acids into the water which could kill the fish .

well i also as a part time keeper get paid for what i do on the farm , i also do all the vermin control in my area which benefits our shoot anyway, mostly for the local farmers, some pay me, i never ask for money . i ask some times for a bit of duck shooting because thats my main passion or stalking instead of payment which all farmers are very happy to do so. i have gained alot of permmission through word of mouth also having a good reputation helps, i now have many thousands of acres through it.
