    good days indeed mate ,another one I can mind was being put in the back of an old escort van with all manor of digging stuff and I garrantee I fight between the dogs would brake out with my father shouting " brake them up " lol me trying not to look scared . Nah you're right them days are gone you'd be lock up nowadays .

    funny we'd get up most Sunday morning and he'd be gone either digging coursing or with he's chicken mates , mum always knew he'd Finnish up in the pub , just for a couple mind ?. Different days then different dogs different men , I only knew because I was born on the fag end of them times. My father old now almost blind and in a wheelchair but can still tell you the breeding of dogs and as sharp as you like . He was a bit of a legend to me !

    Yes I do believe he was , one time he accidentally got over a neighbours lapdog a little yorkie cross jack bitch she favoured a strong yorkie. The little bitch had one pup a died the neighbours kept the pup a dog it was, they called him barney . Ugly fooker brown prick ears and no bigger than a bottle of tomato sauce at the shoulders . Anyway all the lads are playing football when the neighbours lad bring out barney . So we're having a kick about and he gets on under an allotment shed . All the lads got him out by the time we got to him he had no teeth and blowing red bubbles through he nose .

    Just talking to me old father and we've only seen one lol , it was a border dog called billy my father can even remember he's KC name it was Dandyhow Brusselsprout lol such a silly name for a truelly hard dog . Anyway so the story goes a very good local digging man used to buy border dogs of an old lady that used to show them . She sold him Billy because he had one ear bigger than the other . He took the dog home and put it in a run with another dog and bitch when he got up in the morning the other dog and bitch where both dead and billy was sitting on top of the kennel , he was only 12 months

    For me personally for a dog to reach great status, dog or bitch not only has to be a consistent worker a dog that you can count on and years of good graft but also a " reproducer " ! A dog that can throw more workers in a litter than non workers and with a few different bitches aswell . The sort of terrier that could be the start of a dynasty a line call it what you will , dogs like this are if you're lucky a once in a lifetime jmho .

    i hate using the word " legend " such an over used word , me I've personally seen good honest dogs work but not any legends so to speak . I've seen dogs work that where good and I'm sure their openers would love to give them legend status lol. Large doses of kennel blindness but at the end of the day no legends . I think if the op title was good honest grafters it would've been a better title ?

    I had a bitch once that would be ok one time and look under the weather the next , if there was something going she would catch it . I Don't know weather she had a heart murmur but she never really had any constitution if that makes sense, She never made the grade unfortunately . I think the jobs hard enough for a healthy dog let alone a dog with a fault . In saying that I'd still give her chance to do what she was bred for jmho

    What you saying, no red rosette's? Haha........his looks are the least of my worries, it's his size! He's definitely unique that's for sure haha.....there's some decent stuff in his make up & he wanted in at 4 1/2 months.....lucky I leaded him up in time, so we shall see.....cheers ;-) true mate how's he bred ?

    Well do something about it instead of moaning.....start you're own campaign and see how easy it is..... As long as the CA supports us in parliament who cares that they don't fill their magazine with terriers or lurchers? It is down to the CA that we can still legally hunt what we can hunt, but I don't hear anyone saying 'Thanks' to them for that? There's lots going on behind the scenes. I think Barrie summed it all up nicely..... maybe that's where there going wrong and instead of doing things behind the scenes and do things a bit more open like !

    you'd make a good politician always turning it away from labour and spinning it about the conservatives . Yes yes they'll snides we all know that but labour are the biggest quislings of the lot mate ! I hate the conservatives mate, always have, wouldn't piss on one if they were on fire...........with good reason..........they get a bit of support on here because of hunting/immigration.............but it's all bollocks..........if the rich/elite didn't want cheap labour, and f**k knows what else it's about?....we wouldn't have mass immigration...........they all want mass immigration.......
