Beat My Personal Best Today.

Last season I managed 45 one day with the dogs and ferrets and no nets..had lots of 30s and various days of similar amounts.

 

But today was the day I beat it.. it was a normal day really and i didn't go where the big numbers are on easy ground,I went on the steep bankings with shale and rocks running through the whole banking..when the bunnies hit this stuff it really slows the dogs down...lol.

 

But I like the challenge of hard runs on the steep stuff it makes for interesting sport and the bunnies are like rockets if they go downhill,So I missed a fair few also.

 

Plus I spent a good hour or so with the keeper and his 2 young sons ferreting for fun and letting the kids get into it... it was bloody great watching the young uns getting a buzz picking up the ferrets and bunnies and getting all excited..The noise was counterproductive but it was the best part of my day seeing the little fellas faces all aglow.

It was absolutely freezing and the wind was painfully cold.So the digging kept me warm..lol.

 

I got stuck in my truck at end of day and had to get the keeper back out to give me a tow... I'm aboslulety fekked with all the digging my truck out and carrying my load etc etc.. but what a great day to be out with your dogs and ferts enjoying a day off work ,braving the weather and getting stuck in.

 

The dogs were spot on and the ferrets were like machines just 2 hobs bouncing them out or grabbing them and killing them quickly but none stop and still scratching the box at the end of the day.

 

Wish I could have video filmed some of the runs and bolts etc etc..but my iphone is knacked.

 

I'm sure I could have done more with the right start and no interruptions..but I finished on 52...no nets.
