  2. Hi Guys, I'm flying this Thursday from the Isle of Lewis to go deer stalking on the mainland and was inquiring if anybody on here has any experience on what regulations l should follow when flying with a rifle and carrying ammunition? I have a lockable solid gun case for the journey and my local security bods said all l would have to do would be to declare my rifle + ammo and show them my license. On the ammo front l have no idea how it should be carried and must add that l think it would be best in an ammo belt type of thing kept with the gun in the case as it is safest in there but agai
  3. Thanks for the info guys! Much appreciated. thanks Callum
  4. see we're differant , we have a limit and they can only be held if you have a licence . are shotties are on fac as well Hi chid21 I asked specifically for a multishot semi auto firearm certificate shotgun hence the reason mine is on firearm cert. cheers Callum
  5. thanks for the replies guys, So were would l stand on buying them Paulus considering it does not state anything on shotgun shells on my firearm certificate in the ammunition section? cheers Callum
  6. Hi guys its been a while, I went for a variation last month for a semi auto fac shotgun and my cert came back today. I'm unsure if my certificate came back correct though as it states under the Firearms authorised to be purchased or acquired 12 BORE SHOTGUN but under the ammo section it does not mention anything about shotgun cartridges. Should it mention anything as l am not sure whether this is an error or not on my local firearms departments part or that this is the norm for a FAC shotgun? cheers Callum

  15. I'm guessing you have decock the bolt outside the rifle. I did it once with my Winchester model 70 and boy did l panic as l though l had broken my bolt. I fixed it by placing the bolt flat on a table and pushing it down on the table whilst turning it clockwise to recock it again but on hindsight the video below might have been a lot easier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YvroVmnVTI cheers Callum

  19. Drying cases after U/S cleaning was always a real pain in the rear. Acetone works a treat. What I do is to wait for a nice sunny day, when I can feel the garden wall warming up. I'll U/S a load of cases, give the cases a quick flush in tap water (although if you wanted to flush correctly you should use distilled water, which can be obtained from car shops, I don't bother). Pour a bottle of acetone in to a jug and drop the cases in, give them a swirl, take them out and stand the cases up on the wall. Ten minuets later all the cases are dry, clean and ready to be reloaded. That said, I usual

  22. Sorry bud, Was way back on page 8 general section trying to catch up cos was working last 3 days Is it just the one usb port you have tested the usb sticks in as it could be a hardware failure in one of the ports. If this is not the case then try a system restore dated before this started occurring. If the system Restore does not work install your windows 7 DVD into your comp and set it up as if you were going to install windows 7. Keep a lookout for were it says repair System / Computer and click on it. The Windows DVD will then search your hard disk for the installed operating system. Onc
