Things me and the kids have found

well, if you can find four species of amphibian and a reptile on the land in a viable breeding population i think you can apply for SSSI status.

OR....find a GC newt in breeding condition, both male and gravid female and video these, that should certainly put a stop to things for a while....good luck

I think its ''Site of special scientific interest'' or something along those lines, I would say ring the council and ask for the environment agency. Some Newts are a protected species so they wont build on the land until the have re-homed them.

I think all newts are protected mate.. :hmm:

sadly they aren't, only the G crested....ring up english nature.,..or whatever its called now and seek advice...

just a warning a SSSI comes with some very strict rules and regulations. witch can make shooting and farming practices very hard if not impossball. have a look, all the rules can be found on the net. it may be more trouble than is worth depending what the land use / uses are. dont get me wrong we need to work with consavation as much as we can. but theres a lot we can do our selfs befor getting possibly anti field sport goverment bodies involved.

Don't flowers and plant life have some bearing as well?, maybe a combination of the two would be easier to find.
