James McKay did them or possibly still does them what he charges i dont know , not sure what you would have to do as in insurence etc

I think it would have to be done in a business like fashion

ive got a bizness already and its on private ground you could sign a piece of paper to say your incharge of your self , or pay a sum for insurance or put it in the price , ye with all the questions i hear on this hunting sites as i never bother much with others there seems to be a lack of knowledgble people about nowadays but ferrets seem to be in big demand and places to go people pay to go fishing shooting, coursing why not ferreting courses , it would answer alot of questions and stop all the dribble on the internet about workin animals ,and show them what good working animals ie dogs can do , saw a few vids but nothing like the real thing with proffesional types of people , and your putting back what you no into your sport as on these hunting channels i could open up but for whsat nothing its cost me alot more so putin and get back something etc

I dont think you will ever change the minds of people who generally think a ferret should be dressed up & sit on there lap all day

Check out the adds in mags, thousands of people already do it, most hawking centres do it around here, seems the trick here is, if your a know it all people don't want to use your services because nobody wants to spend money on listening to some one bleat on about how good they are, it has to be fun, if you don't see what you do as fun, then don't bother.

good idea, but already done

the national ferret register already organize days that you speak of, a full day, split into 3 parts, ferreting with birds of prey, ferreting with dogs, and ferreting with nets, a group of 30 plus people can then be split up into 3's all trying different ways of ferreting, they also lay on a free dinner, and tea/coffee breaks, supply a certifcate at end of day, and its FREE OF CHARGE, a deposit of £10 on booking, is returned at end of day, although most people donate that back, as its a great day out, for either beginners or experienced ferreters

so yes, its a good idea, but what happens if you organise a day, take money, and it pisses down all day, rabbits dont bolt etc, not so bad if people only live a few miles away, but what if they have had a 2/3hr drive to get there,

think what you wany stealthy had many a people up hunting and they keep coming back cant be that bad or wouldnt get them coming over got several pm s from guys but will advertise it on the write mags ,as you cant beat going with knowledgble guys gals who have the land and no how to work it ,thanks , and im not a no it all listen to many an expiernced guy gal in there chosen feild ,but no time for eejits and time wasters or dreamers

As stubby says it is getting done, but in teams of ten but im sure people would rather one 2 one so i'd say give it a go you have the land and tools to teach a few do it

I think it's a good idea Whin, there is no better way to learn than go with somebody who knows the ropes.

If you have the land to accomodate a group, then give it a go.

If they could bring along there own animals to work, then with a helping hand can make things easier for them in the field.

(Not sure how much you could charge thats all.)

And if the conditions are not great, and rabbits are not bolting, then thats a typical day out in the field.

Especially further up north from me!
