Started the day with a phone call from nighttimenellie and he couldnt make it due to family issues so just want to say hope everything is ok there mate. so woodga phone up foxhunter off here to judge the match for us and he kindly said yes.

we started te night with a gathering at woodgas house it was like a poachers meeting with me woodga tomo collie/grey foxhunter ratcherman and longdogrunner all having a laugh before the nights sports, the 2 teams set on there way the weather conditions appauling for a good nights lamping below freezing and not a breath of with at all.

me woodga and foxhunter arrived at out desination after a quick stop at the chippy to refuel lol as soon as storm was out of the motor he was holding his foot as he picked up an injury to his due claw on the friday night but the night began a flip of the coin decided the first runner and woodga won the toss, the rabbits were thin on the ground and quick off the mark, the dogs ran well considering and the nights lamping came to a early finish after just over 2 hours we had both taken a few falls on fields and on the black ice on the road and woodga had to give in after soldiering on with his injured ribs and hand through out the night, this bloke does not like to give up hats off to him.

we only had 10 slips each with Storm taking 9 losing one as it shot straight through the sheep netting and him boucing off it i gave him some stupid slips which were some easy 100+ slips on rabbits already making a run for safty to only suprise us as he managed to get on turms and pick them up which i know foxhunter enjoyed seeing, typp took 6 rabbits and was unlucky on a couple occations not to pick the rabbits up twisting and turning them for them to pop down a rabbit hole.

end score being 9 - 6 to storm

its been a cracking few days sport with some of the most genuine lads iv met in a long time hats off to them all and especially woodga for putting up with me lol even though we was both injured and hobbleing around the fields like a pair of oldies it was proberly the best few days sport i have had in a long time out on the rabbits and iv made some lifetime friendships and cannot thank woodga enough.

thankyou to the lads that iv been out with over the past few days and i cannot wait for next time.

Well done lads, this is what i stay on these forums for....you take a old hand at the game who has many years at the rabbits and one of the young bucks who is not long in the game but both have a passion for what they do who are never on here putting others down or bigging themselves up....one by all accounts still walks out carrying a injury when he should be back at home resting up but refuses to let the lad down and one runs if you were to listen to some gubs a second rate cur bred from non-workers,but they still hunt together shoulder to shoulder having a few good nights out and competing in the competition without any hitches or bitching.....good on you both.....this is what its all about ;)

Best of luck with storm world.hunters on your next round mate.

well the lads still in bed now and what a fun filled few days we have had he has enjoyed his stay up here and hopefully has made some friends for life,

that fecking dog of mine arrgh well he had three rabbits start because he pinched them out of the shed and had the heads and backs eaten before we even started the run :( he was stinking all the way up it allways happens when you dont want it to and everyone knows lurcher are oppertunistic theives :D well we arrived up there and the frost was on the ground and rabbits wont be found in numbers in conditions like that so they were hard to find after a few falls and one slip on the ice fun became pain :o and time to call a halt unless you have cracked ribs you cant imagine the agony god only knows how those boxers take body shots any way you arron was limping badly and between the two of us we looked like a couple of geriatrics :o a deseved winner on the night and good luck in the future rounds i hope the dogs dew claw mends quickly ;) time for me to have some r &r as iv been order off our lass to take it easy for a while :(

It's not looking to promising for my heat tonight ! I've been out this morning in the same area and the ground is like concrete !!! Heavy frost and a forecast for fog !!! Well done lads for trying to make a night of it, but if it isn't fun, it's not worth doing it !! Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning, Col; I've been ringing you, but no answer.

Cheers.

I hope you can run the heat tonight CP but it's much the same out West mate, baltic conditions last night and on being out earlier it was still freezing hard, not looked at the forecast for tonight but it'll need to change drastically for "suitable" running conditions. All the best if you "get the green light" and go-ahead.Cheers Andy. ;)

Just checked the BBC weather site, and it -3 and fog for tonight !!! We'll have a look round, maybe find some sheltered areas, but not expecting many rabbits to be about !!

Cheers.
