Garypco 3
Ive always followed the minshaw saga with interest as we had two about ten years back maybe longer these bitches were if i recal both white one belonged to a mate and was sold as he was a bit of a dog swapper the other belonged to my brother he had her quite late about two yr old they came from the leicster area both were very game and took everything put infron of them although my brothers bitch took everything slipped at she had an even better taste for sheep!!! anyhow we were never able to break her, living in sheep country she was pts....im sorry we never kept her on and bred from her as she was something special....i think at he time me and my brother had fallen out so i was never offered the bitch.... she was a stunner tho about 25" at the shoulder with a head like a bucket..... DUCKWING 302
I think the book will a great read , breeding pics etc , keep the storys real and no one will be able to criticize it !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen Joe Oxs old dog and he still looks impresive at his age , more so for the fact he hasnt been run for a good few years , im sure he will look a bit fitter if he is going to star in the book :weight_lift2: and Joe if your getting your pic taken ffs dont wear them DUNLOPS TC,you can guarantee that there will be plenty of criticism...more than likely heading in my direction but i have my flak jacket at hand .For those who have never heard or even seen Minshaw's Blue here's a snippet from the Lurcher Journal many years ago and i believe if not mistaken put in by non other than Chalkwarren .Cheers Andy. THEY WERE IMPRESSIVE LOOKING DOGS FOR THE TIME . NO DOUBT ABOUT IT ! WHEN THE EARLY HISTORY IS KNOWN ITS EASY TO SEE WHY ..... THE CHALLANGE IN THAT OLD PHOTO WAS TAKEN UP AND OLD MINSHAW SOUNDLY BEATEN AT LEAST ON ONE OCCASION THAT I KNOW OF ......... THOUGH WITHOUT A DOUBT TO REGULARY TAKE GOOD AMOUNTS OF GAME IT TAKES KEEN MEN AND HONEST DOGS ALL THE BEST DUCKWING Quote Link to post

pryor1 0
I'll just add my tuppence worth in here without setting off a if at all possible.A friend of mine from Southern Ireland did have a top lamping bitch mated by my dog Jack as stated correctly by Joe Ox and she did have 16 pups to him.The fella is one of those who likes to remain in the background but he works his dogs to the hilt and they take some game over there so i'd be pretty sure the stories you've heard jack lee are truthful and not myth.As for the book well it's on the way,i'm sure controversary won't be far away but thats nothing other than i expect. It should be out this time next year and will be published by J.DARCY books Cheers Andy. HOW MUCH FOR THE STUD FEE FOR THE MINSHAW DOG Quote Link to post
