If i'm wrong leeview I stand corrected, is there a link anywhere to the rule?

If that is the case what age can a greyhound be before it's too old to be entered in a puppy competition?

A pup is eligible to run in a puppy stake the season after it was born so a January pup would be able to compete the following year come October through till the end of that season last day of February by which time it would possibly 2yrs and nearly a couple of months that would be the oldest it could be others born later obviously younger, pups can also run in an all aged stake but an all aged is not allowed to run in a puppy stake even as a bye dog

having had greyhounds and see greyhounds against salukis coursing and decent salukis the greyhound full stop is the fastest and some of the old type of feild greyhounds my mate keeps out of cunningham strain can blast a saluki for 2 to 3 minutes , as he has beat them in comps one the grand cup open coursing stake with dogs of thta strain alot of use talk shit and have neither the expierence in the feild to have a real say and this shit i read it in a book a fechinng joke ,slip to dogs to a hare and see who gets there first give them a hundred yard start like altcar , its not rocket sceince and as for speed saw dogs run on a roe and hare i was in subaru going forty they were in front and they were good crosss bred dogs ,

been having a debate with a pal over which is the fastest.

what are you opinions?

from a standing start over lets say 350 yards for arguments sake - in a straight line - Pure greyhound or Pure Saluki ?

I think for speed the grey....but the longer the distance you gotta favour the saluki

Thats my opinion - - - my pal won't have it though LOL! - - - - I summed it up quite simply.

If Salukis were faster - we'd be watching Saluki racing as apposed to greyhound racing.

i was thinking that as sson as i read ite opening post :victory:
