gutting that is mate but it happens to almost every terrierman every once in a lifetime :thumbdown: RIP captain just hope you got a dog to dig on next year now :thumbs::thumbs:

You are right there we would of still been there only for Dev and P and we well repay the favour sometime. Dog was in grips for about an hr or so and we could hear the battle goin on from the mouth of the hole and then silence so we waited for bout 3 hrs and no noise and he hadnt moved an inch on the locator so we had a fair idea that we be digging to a dead dog so rather start last nite we got gathered up and started at 8 this morning we owed him that much couldnt of left him not knowing for sure what happened.

sorry to hear about that mate shame there wasnt a happy ending to such a dig.all the best in the future.

Always a sad moment when you break through to a dead dog: only happened to me twice, but like the others have said: when they can walk away at any time it's only their gameness and breeding that gives them no reverse gear.

YES heat can be a killer thats just one of many reasons a lot of lads dont dig in the summer.
