👍 Thought it would of changed by now . I've not lived on the mainland in near 20yrs.

My cabinet is bolted to wall only that's all that's required over here , don't know how they can say bolt to the floor what happens if you've under floor heating or something to stop you 🤷‍♂️

Might as well apply for both mate shotgun and firearms...

Would I not stand a better chance going shotty first fac later ? Or does it not matter wouldn’t mind an fac as there’s plenty of deer around up there the eagle had a fly on a muntjac a while back apparently would love to see that

If you are going to apply for both you need to be pretty sure that you will be granted, because if they see a reason for you not to have a FAC they will refuse both, where as, if you are granted a SGC there nothing stopping you putting in for FAC later and if it’s refused you still keep your SGC, get it in as soon as possible because if they get the legislation though putting shotguns as a section one firearm that’s going to open a whole can of worms for a lot of people, especially those who are looking for a first grant 👍

i doubt they will let you keep a shotgun on your boat, as your boat could get stolen, also your be sailing about come the good weather, i had the same questions when i lived in a motorhome years ago now, i had to keep my shotguns and FAC in a house so that's what i did.....

Any home can get broken into and lets be honest any gemmy bar will have a gun cabinet off a wall and as long as you make it has hard as you can that's all anyone can do to keep any gun safe from the hands of wrong un's...But a camper on the road side as such is different from a boat in a boat yard with neighbours within touching distance almost..

If there's any chance you would get refused due to previous convictions then don't go for fac at same time. Concentrate on shot gun.

If you get it then I've got a pump action and under and over in the cabinet you can have.

Better off at the house not on boats it's not a proper registered address it's more likely to be safer in a well built gun cabinet in a home with CCTV and a burglar alarm not a small canel boat with no protection around the boat or any camera footage off the subject ABIT their was a family my sister knew years ago who lived on a boat while school age their school had always had trouble communicating with that family no fixed address or contact number only their gran was next to kin so it goes all ways

mate, i don`t make the rules, my motorhome was never road side it was on a few sites for quite a while, surrounded by many others, so you could say that wouldn`t get stolen being so close to each other, also, if greyman took off for the summer he could moor up along a canal somewhere and be the only boat for miles which could be stolen, and that`s what i think the fire arms officer could think about,

I've written to your chief constable giving him the heads up about your hair trigger temper, aggressive posts and challenges for a  square go with IWW and Greb. I have detailed your hatred of left wing viewpoints and your unpleasantness on this matter with helpless, innocent old gentlemen such as myself.

I have recommended you be denied a shotgun licence for the safety of other THL members. The thought of you armed to the teeth, speeding up the canal system to force me onto bended knee to repeat 'Donald Trump is the saviour of the free world' fills me with dread and sheer terror.

Sorry, for the safety of site members,  somebody had to grass you up.
