There used to be a consensus that there were three major ethnicities or races; caucasoid, mongoloid and negroid. Caucasoids were mainly European but also included Middle Eastern, Central Asian and Persians and people from northern India. My opinion is, and I emphasise it’s just MY opinion, is that the vast majority of people north of the Pyrenees were white. The people of Iberia, Greece etc had or have a big influx of North African and Turkish , ( Ottoman), blood, so can’t be considered as true Caucasians.
