San Diego is our end town, after your recommendation mate...and everyone we have spokrn to hete say it is their favourite US city... a little drive on the Pacific Highway abd a few days in the sun...got a good few more weeks exploring yet, all being well

2023 I spent a couple of months in LA and orange county and stayed for a month in a strip motel in South Gate right next to inglewood and Compton,the place was a taxi hotel used by pay-for-play ladies and their John's,my bed had disco lights above it,life is indeed a rich tapestry.

Last year I spent time in NorCal and up into oregon with really nice people,salt of the earth folk,gives you a whole new perspective on a place.
