Iv used loads over years on farm an out an about an kaiwaka arw hands down the best there is mate, that’s why they so pricey cos they know how good product is, second for me tho was a cheap fishing suit one younger kids got me for for crimbo a while back, it was a pro logic bob an brace an jacket, an not once did it let in till I ripped it on a fence. Was less than half price of kaiwaka tho 

 

trousers I find it a lot earier to find waterproof ones, I got some seeland ones that made of that rip stop gear I think it is, bomb proof o can even kneel is real soggy fields setting traps an they still keep it out, but jackets are another thing altogether an once ye find a good one it’s best to stick to it haha

I’d say if you are digging things up all day, it’s finding something waterproof and sturdy but very lightweight so that you ain’t sweating like a racehorse in 5 minutes ? 
That British army kit is perfect in this regard.

I bought a Beta Craft fleece smock about a month ago only about £59 ish. Got to say am impressed,  I even look like a farmer in it lol

Gnipper, lads shouldn't be having to buy their own PPE or workwear. I know it depends on your companies attitude, and sounds like they are issuing something, but it needs to be fit for purpose. They have a legal duty of care under HSAW Act 1974. Maybe have a diplomatic word with a supervisor or manager? I happy workforce is a productive workforce  I know not all companies take this sort of thing seriously and can regard those who speak up as trouble makers, but shouldn't be happening in 2025. The more expensive better quality stuff usually proves more cost effective in the long run anyway.

Any water proof wear for work or anything else is got to be good quality even second hand they are not cheap and how it is if it's much wear and tear our youngest brother lent out a waterproof work coat to a mate it came back in a state burns and black tart and ripped

They do provide stuff mate but its the basic stuff like screwfix etc sell and I don't blame them either as expensive stuff would be getting lost left right and centre. We get bekina wellies nowadays which are a mile better than the shite we used to get.

Fancy trying Swanndri tbh. I've never liked Ridgeline stuff,  had a coat years ago. It was too heavy and sweated my tits off in it lamping , ended up giving it a fella down road who was into his stalking

I've only got one of their swanndri bush shirts. The Ridgeline torrent i have is an heavy coat and tbh i only wear it when it's really cold.

I went in a really nice marina boating store in Spain once,mega-posh,with a guy from Sunderland,I didn’t even see him doing it,he nicked a musto boating jacket,some people.

Tbf I I was down that way, I would actually like to have a look round . Bet there is some decent stuff in there.
