Think they used salt, can remember me ole man an me uncles salting minnows an I think they done roe aswell as bait, would have ask one me uncles how they done it exactly tho I was only young

Salt,sugar and borax,but I don't think its any better than fresh eggs,I have had a lot of fish this year on plastic eggs also.

I remember the nets got cut in loch awe an a few the older lads took us up to fish for the big rainbows that got released I swear there must have been 300 folk on that side of the loch that day …. Boy across road from me had a jar of paste an aye it kills trout
