Good speech by Farage this morning on small businesses, making all the right noises.

Britain used to be a great place to do business, then Blair turned up !…..

I can remember being that 15 year old kid and going door to door selling my dusters and dishcloths and ironing board covers that I used to buy from the wholesaler, just me and pal who could drive would jump in his mini and off we would go and earn money……later on it progressed other industries and other things like service but the core was always buying something and selling something so that everyone got a bargain (which meant they would keep coming back) and everyone got a living (which made it fun and made you keep going) 

But post Blair and his subsequent clones, it became harder and harder, you felt more exploited, more like you were viewed as something almost criminal, more like something to be abused, who wasn’t wanted and that combined with a lot of other things in the country eventually led me to say “f**k this, I’m off !” 
 

So, if I was being harsh I’d say Farages speech lacked detail, but it was mostly asking small businesses to get involved to shape policy so I suppose there won’t be detail until that is done ? 
But that said, it did make me feel positive, a massive bit of me was saying “I hope to live to see that country again and get a chance to go and go at something again” because I loved dealing with British people by and large, in the times when it was an enjoyment rather than a gauntlet of government. 
Britain can’t get back to the days quick enough when a lad could take a van and some readies and go and make something of himself without being treated like some kind of terrorist !

That’s pretty much me as well mate, as long as you were willing to graft you could always turn over a few quid, peat was a good earner just buy a pallet from the moors and sell on the doorstep had market stools scrap wagons etc and could always make money but as you say the rug has well and truly been pulled out from under us

What struck me the most was when Farage said he had spoken to Trump on Friday and Trump asked “is this how Britain treats it greatest ally ?”

The BBC has just admitted, in writing , that the doctored video WAS meant to give the impression that Trump was calling for violence and have apologised.

Trump has now wrote to the BBC threatening to sue. 

Corrupt , lying politicians , corrupt, lying BBC.

Far left bias in the police, education, the judiciary, a 100 year old veteran saying on tv that this isn’t what his generation fought and died for.

The swamp certainly needs draining, is Farage the man to do it ? I fervently hope so, but he will have the mother of all fight going against the “establishment “ !

I'd be interested to know who owns the editing company that supplied this footage to the BBC and obviously who at the BBC gave them the contract and who gave it the okay. The swamp here is unelected Whitehall officials and civils servants , people in power who go unchecked for decades.

I don’t have the information to hand but it was an independent company that produced the Panorama program, they have been named, but it was BBC editors who viewed the content and agreed to show it.

Im just watching some left wing lunatic who is blaming Trump for all this and calling him a bully and saying it’s the far right trying to destroy the BBC, even thought it’s been pointed out to him that the BBC had admitted the footage WAS edited to look like Trump was calling for violence!!!!

And that was for a relatively overt bias. The BBC and all MSM is guilty of a more subtle bias against Trump…, like he’s some unhinged racist & sexist despot and whilst they demonise him it’s almost overlooked the fact that he’s the democratically elected POTUS.

When they decided they needed more taxes it was a toss up to go after you or the wealthy and they chose you bud. For anyone with an eye for a deal and willing to put in the work the UK in the 70s to early 90s was heaven. Loads of money around you just had to stick your neck out and take some.

I broadly agree with that, however the question nobody can ever seem to answer is, who are “the rich” ?

Because it seem arbitrary ?……like to the care home worker the bricklayer is rich ?, to the bricklayer the developer is rich ? And so and so on….the end result is, it’s not worth trying to earn more in case you one day get classified as “the rich” 

So nobody bothers, hence the situation you see developing in Britain.

I think by and large the rich don’t work. Large landowners, families that have inherited and passed down fortunes for generations with no inheritance taxes, the Russian and Saudi folks who swan around Mayfair. And my own pet hate the patriots who have vast enough fortunes to pay their own share but decide to be tax residents in other countries while everyone else fronts the bill. Anyway I’m full of shit in my old age getting all self righteous after nearly 20 years in nick on and off and numerous Revenue and CAB settlements. Should of practiced what I’m preaching now

As you probably expected I take a slightly different view, if we was sat at a table and I said “give me a tenner” and you did and I promptly set it in fire and then asked you for another tenner and did the same and on and on and on……pretty soon you’d say “f**k this, why am I giving this bloke tenners ?…..I’ll stop !”
