Really the police should remove his phone and get it checked out by a expert and try and trace them photos and who sent them and locate them check that person out you never know you heard how how peodos network with each other and pass on images

Its not that clear there's no mention of it even being a phone, if it was something like a spam email with some dodgy link or something then the guy could be innocent. 

 If like everyone is assuming it was on his phone and received from a friend then I agree he should have done something about it if they were sent to him and he didn't ask for them. It's not grassing if its a nonce.

How would they know that he's got indecent images on his laptop or PC? I'm not being funny but if your PC or whatever was bombarded with dodgy links to child porn or whatever you would report it immediately wouldn't you?

If the images aren't on his phone and on the PC then imagine they have busted him because he's been viewing sites that are being monitored?

I'd say follow your gut instinct, it's rarely wrong... everyone on here guessing how guilty he is or isn't wont help you mate... if your gut reaction was to avoid him then that pretty much tells you everything you need to know
