I would genuinely like honest opinions on this.

A bloke on the fishing syndicate I belong to has been charged with possessing indecent images of children. He says he was sent them entirely unsolicited. His case has not come to court yet.

I drove up to the beat this morning just as he was getting out of his car. He said "Good morrning",  but I couldn't bring myself to reply, turned my back and blanked him.

He gets upset and immediately drives home.

So the other guys are split, some say I'm out of order and should wait until the verdict and others say he's got a nerve acting as though nothing has happened.

Maybe I should show him a bit of loyalty and compassion and reserve judgement until the trial. I don't know.

If what he says is true and somebody maliciously sends you an indecent image of a minor, how do you protect yourself?  Can you put a block on receiving such images?

I think you should wait for the verdict, you don’t have to be his best mate but it’s costs you nothing to say “Morning”

The bloke ain’t guilty until convicted !

Presuming guilt on something that isn’t open and shut on the basis of an arrest by a police force that frankly nobody in their right mind trusts anymore is a dangerous thing to do……today it’s him without trial, tomorrow it’s you or anyone of us.

Wait for the facts and the judgment !

You can’t rely on how your mates would feel or others opinions.  answer to yourself  That’s it .

F#ck him and f#ck anybody else who supports him .. if he was sent them random he should of reported the person who sent them to him not had them on his phone .

If someone sent him random pictures how did he get caught in possession of them ?.

It is open and shut though, he admits having them. Why would they be on his phone? You would report it immediately. He is a nonce and should be treat like one.

Fair enough mate, personally I don’t trust the modern police or judicial system because nothing they do makes me trust them, so until a jury has heard all the facts and made a judgement then I’ll go with that.

Tricky one ain't it.....

Does seem very suspect.....

But of course like wilf says British justice at the minute...is very suspect...

On top of that is the accusation....there's nothing worse to be accused of.....especially if you are innocent....stuff like that can stick years after....even if everything was a load of bollocks...

It goes one or two ways, there's no in between. If you are sent the images you either delete them and go and slap the c**t that sent them you or you report the c**t straight away and keep the messages as evidence and let the authorities deal with them.

My reply is self explanatory, read it again

I don't know what not trusting the police or innocent till proven guilty has to do with this at all. He admitted having them on his phone, doesn't dispute it just says they were sent unsolicited, he's a nonce.

I’m generally in agreement with wilfs views on the authority’s but having kiddie porn on your phone is a bit of a stretch there’s only one reason for it being there sorry but can’t see any grey areas the old bill would also be quite deeply into a pedo ring to flag up a totally off the radar type of bloke for receiving a picture so I’m all for an end of season lynching on the syndicate

I’m not trying to “prove you wrong” lads, just saying how I feel.

There's something very strange about you with this subject, he's as guilty as sin quite clearly, it doesn't need to go to trial to understand that!

You don't need to mind read ya plum, it's clear in black & white, the man has been charged with having indecent images of children on his phone!

There was an old boy used to live in the town near mine, two girls accused him of noncing them up…..arrested and charged, some locals burnt his house down…..when it came to court, got proven totally innocent !

Go figure !

If he is not in the wrong then he should stay away for his own safety and if cleared of no wrong doing then show up to prove it he is guilty he deserves everything he gets

That's not even remotely comparable is it, one is someone's words against the other(s) and the other is black & white, he either had indecent images on his phone or he didn't.
