Absolute rot boxes, but it was the motor we all wanted, while the lads were out nicking escort turbos and Astra gte’s these were mine and my mate motor of choice, no one had an independent that someone hadn’t tried to nick around here

N reg that stav you couldnt take them without the key from around l reg could you ? May a been different for daihatsu

I’m not sure about that, the old ones from the 80’s ( just the four track ) you could start with your fingers, I definitely had a L reg one without the keys, there was a lad I knew that was getting them to sell on and they were all new-ish in the mid nineties

Mainly Vauxhall ford's vw I'd go for after l or n reg they were immobilised on the key like now everyone started creeping fir keys then

Snapped the key in the ignition barrel of a H reg fourtrak...I drove it,like that  for 2 yrs...could start it with the key stump lol...like rattling an old ford Orion ...the old d reg fourtrak van my mate had,you could start with any key 🙈👍

No, probably Rumanians actually, they used to nic them and then put them in a container at Tilbury docks to send to west Africa…..Tilbury docks was like “we buy any car”, you’d  have a truck with a pickup on the back with a car stacked on the back of that and all the insides of all of them fill up with tellys, fridges and computers nobody wants ! lol

A different one but around the same time was when Ford brought the tibbe lock out, a lad I knew had a key cutter for them and you just pulled a boot lock out of a turbo or xr3 and he’d make you a key for it, save you wrenching them up, I remember when they started putting the chips in the tibbe keys and it took someone all of about an hour to work out how to bypass them coil immobilisers an the ignition barrel

I never gave a f**k and would leave mine anywhere,behind hedgerows,up little single track lanes etc....but I always put one of them flying saucer crook locks on the steering wheel😁 ... Always some dodgy farmers and f***ing gypos looking to have them away....it's the same with the motorhomes....I'm always getting stopped and asked is it for sale John boy?...

I wont entertain these new keyless motors...few  youngsters down by me are flat out every night,got them little boxes that intercept your key signal....wake up in the morning....and there's 80/100k of motors disappeared off some poor sods drive...ripping about in AMG's,RS3's on doubled up plates, terrorizing the law and filming themselves 🙈
